Did you ask your dealership about warranty? Some have said toyota canada won't warranty an American supercharger. Run some searches.

The price for supercharger sounds reasonable. The labor you can shave a couple hundred off if you shop around. :)

I am getting TRD s/c installed on Tues. I did a lot of looking around, the cheapest I could find for the s/c and fit kit is from trdparts4u.com, the same one you already found. As for install, the install instructions from TRD say 6-7 hrs, my local dealership said it would take them 10.5 at $75 (US)/hr, $787 total. I couldn't get them to budge off that, but from what I've read on the interwebs install prices vary from $500-$1400, depending on your local dealership.

If you get the supercharger get the URD 2.85" under drive pulley. It looks just like the factory 3" and even has the OEM size and part number etched into it. It really wakes up the supercharger. Nothing extra required. Just install it and go. Almost doubles the boost, 6-8psi total, and really gives it a kick in the pants.

Also is it hard to switch the pulley out? Wonder if a local shop has the tools to do it for me.

    Stock pulley removal.

URD sells an installation tool. URD also sells a "stealth" pulley that looks like the stock one all the way down to the engravings on the pulley face.

Techincally yes it could void your warranty, but like I and the above post states, there is a "stealth" pulley that is identical to the OEM one, just slightly smaller. It even has the OEM size and part number engraved on it. Only way to tell is with a micrometer. I installed mine using the URD tool and about an hour of work.. SO WORTH IT...

I would say its probably easier to do once its on the truck. The hardest part is just getting the pulley belt off. Then its just follow the direction. Pretty simple. All you need is a pulley puller, the pulley installer from URD, a few hand tools, and a pot of boiling water. Should take about an hour total.
