Two things; 1) the trade in value is not taxed. Up here that saves us 8.75% so consider the math before deciding to sell on your own - still may be worth it depending on your tax rate 2) best way to make sure youre not leaving anything on the table is when you think youre done negotiating, just say ok i had already talked to another dealership so i just want to head over there before i make my final decision..if they let you leave ( and be prepared to) youre done- most likely they wont.
I just bought last Saturday - access cab off road package - for me that's what I needed - everyone's needs are different. Your rig will be cool whatever you choose Good luck and welcome to the obsession!

    nothing cool
I thought it sounded like a good price. Didnt realize the SR5 4x2 with 4cyl were priced around 23k.

"Pointless" hood scoop and color matched stuff that nobody will let go without the other party forfeiting a testicle :D

Every time I see a TRD I am like why didn't I pay attention to features of the truck when I got it. I saw all these tacomas and have been eyeballing them for years. Too bad all the ones I liked were probably TRDs.

Oh well my truck will be what I want it to be soon, and obviously it probably will be cheaper than buying the upgraded package because I paint myself and don't need the elocker/inverter etc.

Justin just remember that 2013 has the compass and tempature with the back up camera in the mirror if your sticker says compass and outside tempature gauge then ask then where before you get off the lot. You want to make sure everything on the window sticker is on the truck before you drive it off the lot. Its written law to them that once its off the lot their in the clear on alot of things. Also you can get the price down and if they wont go lower then go somewhere else I wouldnt take that price. Nice job and good luck on the buy :D

Thanks for all your help so far guys! The tips, ideas and angles to take are really great.

Side note--Toyota forums are a whole lot less snotty and uppity than the BMW ones I've been using the past few years.

    you dont say...

im still waiting on my first OR to be built... but i tell you there is a very capable truck in the sport package. if youre looking to haul anything... get the v6. that i4 is only rated to like 2300lbs or something. on top of it being a double cab, youre looking at a rather sluggish truck. good luck on hills! if you live around hills or mtns, take both the 4 and then the 6 up a grade. then imagine adding a few hundred-thousand pounds to each.

I bought a 14 and now I wish I would have had them throw a bed mat in... The composite bed is slippery and everything slides around. The mat would be nice
