well I'm getting my 3rd radio within a year and a new steering shaft and trying to get the dealer to fix the leak around the windshield.they won't even look tav windshield until it can be replicated. does anyone know how. It only does it when its windy outside going down interstate usually on curves.

"Get the Tacoma" they said. "They're well built" they said. *chuckle*.

Sorry about your luck with the leaks. Are you sure its from the winsheild? Where does the water show up?

Whistle noise is coming from the weather strip on the grill between the hood. Slide a piece of 1/4" drip tube in there and it will go away.

Ya but the grill and cab weather stripping are more common. Op, maybe grab video of the sound so we can better identify it. I've had the grill and cab whistle so I'd be able to tell right away if it was one of those or a different issue.

Wow that is terrible, had no idea what some people were putting up with. Am I understanding correctly that you have had this happen on two different trucks?

ya, 2 different trucks not long after taking delivery.

the issue is the factory seal around the windshield.
going 110km/h+ into a headwind it would hum constantly.
pressing on the windshield by the rear view mirror would change the tone of the sound.

    That sucks.

Did the replacement seals workout better?

ya, they fixed the hum on my 2011 on the first attempt.
IIRC I made 5-6 trips to the dealership for the windshield hum on my 2007.

I'm a 100% its not the grille.the sound is near the corner of door /windshield area.It seems to do it at 70mph while theres strong winds.I might take and drive faster to see if it does it.I always have my family in truck so I try to drive safe.

What did you do to reach that 100% conclusion? The source of a sound can be misleading from the inside of the cab. I thought my grill whistle was the windshield for the longest time.

Just brought the truck back today about this same noise. Not the grill because I fixed that myself. The noise comes from the passenger side mirror area (like the video one member posted). Techs drove the truck with tapes covering all potential areas. They discovered that the passenger side weather stripping is bad and ordered one for me.

Will post results after it is fixed next week.

    that's not my video ;)

    I stole it from here

the speed at which the noise begins depends on wind speed and wind direction (headwind or crosswind).
it could hum @ 60mph on a windy day, @ 70mph on a calm day.

Good news . On the way to dealer to get radio and steering shaft replaced I was able to get video of the windshield noise and he said good enough for him and they're fixing it.
