You could do what I did and just amass a small herd of 4x4 's. It's nearly impossible to find the absolute perfect platform in just one vehicle. You'll either give up size for mileage or the reverse... or 2 doors for 4 etc etc. Just collect a gaggle of 'em and you'll get all your bases coveted. Oh.. and I own a small utility trailer too... despite having 3 trucks in the stable. Why take one load when you can take two at once? In all seriousness though, good luck with whatever you choose. I find when I just have 1 type of 4x4 that I catch myself missing the other.. be it full size or whatever. The best you can do is make a choice and once you have, overcome and adapt and figure out a way to do what you need to do with what you have.

    OP,

I have found that by placing the infant seat in the middle seat of the back row you do not have to move the front passenger seat forward. It works out well because it keeps my 6 year old and my 4 year old away from each other. There is no doubt that you are in a smaller cabin then say my wife's pilot, but it works out for us.

Putting the seat in the center is a temporary fix unfortunately. What happens with baby #2 in the future? Also, where I live, I can't leave a trailer out in my yard. It is a subdivision with rules!

I appreciate all of the input from everyone.

That's hilarious! Thanks for the laugh.

I was venting. Alcohol induced venting, at that. I don't hate the truck... I just miss that car is all.

^One of us was crazy enough to go on a ship that sinks on purpose.

Definitely an impulse buy... not something you want to do with a major purchase like a car, but life rolls on and I can afford it. *shrug*

Sounds like you should go fullsize.

Get a deal on a 2014 F150 or wait for the new 2015 F150, the coyote 5.0 is a great engine.

The Tundra is a joke, oversized, fat, bad mpg.

Avoid DCLB taco, it will disappoint. If your going to deal with the large wheelbase and overall length of a DCLB you might as well go fullsize and enjoy the larger cab and more powerful/efficient engine.

I have three in my DCSB at the moment and don't notice them; two forward, one rear facing.

We even drove from NV to OH with all three occupied. It may not be as comfortable as the wife's Sienna, but it wasn't bad at all. I'm only 6 ft tall, but have the 6-speed and my seat is in the same position with or without car seats.

You are a better man then me, and I'm not even 6ft, but pushing 200lb doesn't help either! When I put to the car seats in mine its really tight because we have to move the front seats forward. Its not like it's not doable, but its not the best arrangement.

Has anyone tried to put an infant seat in the truck recently? I think all of the new infant seats are a lot longer than seats from a few years ago. The seat we got is about 30" long. The older ones are 25-26". Makes a big difference.

Tested the ecoboost and 5.0L f150 fx4. Nice truck, but expensive. Almost too expensive for an American vehicle. They offered 22500 for trade. I had a few more K in mind.

    Dilemma continues.....

Tacoma>* I guess its up the person owning it. In the past 2 years I went through an EVO, 535i, Tacoma, LS460, Ended up back with a tacoma because it was my favorite.. never bought the same car again that is how I knew I missed my truck.
