My 05 Taco is popping the P0455 and P0441 codes about once a month. We have had some unseasonably cold weather down South this year, and I have that the check engine comes on and goes off during these times. Both codes indicate a vacuum leak somewhere in the EVAP system. I have replaced the gas cap, but that only worked for a couple of days. Any ideas on where to start looking for hoses that need to be replaced?

If you look under the bed you will see a black box looking thing with a couple hoses running into it. Start there. There is a vacuum pump in that box that sucks the fumes off the tank. If there is a leak it will throw codes. If you are not a tree hugger and you are smart you can figure out how to disable it pretty easy.

This will make you smart- http://www.customtacos.com/tech.old...6toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/01100110.pdf

Yeah, according to the dealership, one of those codes is for the charcoal canister.

Yeah, that's gonna be your EVAP/charcoal canister. Should be fairly simple to replace and install and should be a cheap part to buy through O'reilly/Advance ETC...

Thanks for the info guys. Very helpful. Anyone know if there's a risk in damaging the truck or breaking down if I need to do about 500 miles of driving before I can get the fix done?
