Many on this board have wanted Toyota to offer this option for the Tacoma, so now that GM is going to offer it in their redesigned Mid-size would buy one?

No, would never buy anything but a Toyota.
Maybe if I like the rest of the truck.
Yes, I plan on buying one.

I like the idea of a diesel, but I wouldn't buy a new Colorado diesel in the first few years, at least. Plus I'd need to know the price before deciding. At 30k maybe, at 35k it'd be hard to see the value.

Whatever I happen to be in the market for I would consider multiple options. For the small/mid-size truck, market selection is pretty small right now. Unless that changes, the GM product would be on my list of units to consider.

Reliability would be a primary concern from a GM product & that would need proven before I'd make the leap.

To those about to vote "nothing but Toyota", I'm guessing there was a time when the domestic name plates made the best & most reliable products and certain people would say the same thing about them....in there day. Who knows, Toyotas best days may be behind them...

GM trucks are like garbage trucks, but worse.

My father in-laws throttle body motor went bad at 130k miles and left him stranded. Also, the little switching valve can on the charcoal canister also went bad and gave him a CEL to stare at. To fix the two by the dealer, it was $1000. No thanks.

GM is not an option for me because of them taking the bail out money.

There's not enough bandwidth for what's happening.
These Chevy Colorado threads are tiresome. My Tacoma was just totaled. I'm starting from square one, and the only thing I need to consider is access cab versus double cab TRD for the next vehicle. :D

Me, being in the market for a new truck would consider it - I got to sit in and check out the new Silverado last fall and the interior was wicked nice, but I'm super hesitant to buy anything from the General. The last GM I owned was an Oldsmobile Intrigue with the "bullet-proof" 3800 V6...the thing ate brake rotors and intake gaskets like nothing else.

I need something dependable, hence why a Toyota is a frontrunner! ;)

NO, love the Taco and have owned domestic rigs in the past. I do prefer the Tahoe over the Sequoia.

No more GM for me, 20 yrs of nothing but and they find it "normal" that my 06 Colorado ate the head and timing chain at 75K. Google chevy colorado head failure.

The dealers and GM lied to me up down and sideways. THAT is the reason I won't go back. Had they stood by their written warranty and their initial words to me, I'd have never left.

An option of just "NO" would have been better than saying " No. I'll buy nothing but Toyota". Toyota May make a better truck now but who knows if they will produce crap like GMin the future. It seems that the bigger a auto manufacture becomes the more they are full of themselves. that's when they produce crap that people will buy just because of the name. Case in point GM. I will only buy a truck proven in durability and reliability. Now it's Toyota. Next year who knows. I will never limit my choice to one manufacturer. And I will never buy a truck in the first year of production.

 I'd never buy anything in it's first couple yrs. Besides, I'm only at 99K miles on my Taco; I have at least another 100k miles before I'd even start to look. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

I'd never buy a GM vehicle, too many disasters in the past and they continue.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Would not ever be caught dead in a Chevy truck, Dodge and Ford are the only two domestic trucks I'd ever own. Ford is actually my favorite of all the automakers, I have 4 Fords total, 1 Toyota, and 1 Chevy car, and the car is broke down right now, surprise surprise!
