BakFlip G2 Tonneau cover??

Any reason not to get one over a fiberglass one with strut shocks??

The G2 looks awesome, but was wondering if there is any reason to not get one from others that may have one..

I have a Bakflip VP and love it. IT's very low profile, skinned with vinyl so it looks nice and is secure since it has aluminum panels under the vinyl (as long as you have a locking tailgate. I think it's a lot more functional than a solid fiberglass tonneau because you can still have full access to your bed if you need to.

 

I have a bak fibermax and full access to the bed is the most glaring difference. There is also the flush fit, versatility and the fact that I wasn't looking for a truck with a trunk.

 

I have the Bakflip G2 and love it. Had it for 5 years.

Another vote for the Bakflip. Much more versatile, full access to bed space or easily removed in less than 5 mins if needed. Those hard covers with shocks seems to be a pain if you need the bed space to haul larger items.

Anyone else experience it break and leak a ton? 1st panel caved in cause the industrial foam or whatever that is separated itself from the vinyl.. 3rd year in and its shot somehow. Warrenty is 2 years. Shit outta luck

 

Mine got waterlogged.
I noticed one Winter that the panels started getting the "rippled" look. It was water inside the panels freezing.
It got very heavy too. When i finally removed it and stood it on end, water was weeping out for at least a week.
I'm running a Softopper now.

 

Yea I've been looking at the soft tops. I spent the 800 bucks on it thinking it would last longer. Maybe it was the winter months that got to it. Which top do you sport now

My Bakflip G2 cover is about 3 years old and its rippled on the top, totally waterlogged and weighs a TON. I took it off, barely able to lift and carry because of the excessive weight. Leaned it up inside the garage and its been leaking water for 3 days now.

I am thinking of contacting the manufacturer but what will they really do if its been 3 years. I should have moved on this earlier as it started getting waterlogged after about 2 years...

Is there anything that can be done about this?

 

Trying to dry out my waterlogged BakFlip G2 cover and noticed lots of rust on the parts. Even the hardware is rusting to crap. Not too impressed. (You can't tell in the picture, but each of the panels in the first picture are rippled...!)
