Lol, the sale may be over now though, but you can always add the thing to cart and then online chat someone and ask if you can get the item with the 20% off sale. Usually they'll do it

That looks pretty good Gaunt, not too expensive either, and yes to guy above, Borla sounded pretty good to me, I have to research that again. Idk if they drone or not.

Yeah I thought that. Thing drones too much for me. And I'm not getting a CAI, which is upsetting since that improves the noise according to many

Mine screams a little more since i put the TRD oiled filter in it. But only slightly. I also removed the big plastic engine cover because i heard it can decrease the intake air temps by up to 10degrees.....i saw about 6-8 degrees difference. I will not be getting an intake until i can get a TRD one used.

Now i'm having doubts, because my truck is dark blue, i wonder if that engine cover was keeping some of the heat from my dark hood in the hot sun from getting to the motor. I also am worrying about the intake actually being warm enough to effect paint since toyota didn't feel it necessary to put a damn heat mat on the underside of the hood. :(

I put one on my 2008 2.7L last month.

Took about 800 miles for it to "break in" and no sound ricey.

You can't beat it for the price.

I put a Dynomax Ultraflow nonwelded on my 1994 22RE and it sounded better than the Flowmaster 40 series I had previously.

So far so good. I've towed with it and seen no adverse affects. Not too loud after break-in.

I am thinking of cleaning up and piecing together stock pipes and a new Magnaflow muffler if anyone is interested.

That'd be a cool buy for forum member, after all....friends don't let friends stay stock! :D

Did your afe come with a new catback to y-pipe donut style gasket or did you use the old one?

I thought about this question a little over the weekend so I got under the truck to check it out.

Turns out the reason I used the old one is because I didn't.

There is no gasket. It's a ball flange. I was sure that there wasn't a gasket, but when you asked I just thought that perhaps the old one had stayed in the y-pipe. Nope...ball flange. Just to be sure, I called aFe this morning and they confirmed that it's a ball flange and no gasket is needed.
