Probably a stupid thread, but this morning on I95 two empty five-gallon buckets (and a few sheetrock trowels) flew out of a pickup in front of me (actually a 5-lug Tacoma). There was heavy traffic and no way to stop or swerve, so I ran both of them over going between 60 and 70 mph.

And wouldn't you know it, but everything turned out fine. Didn't even really feel anything. One bucket definitely hit the front right tire. Not sure about the other one. I wouldn't have thought that there was enough clearance on a stock Tacoma to clear a bucket rolling down the highway.

    Do dents and scratches count?
I ran over a large paving stone on the freeway recently. Middle of the night didn't see it till I was just about on top of it. I was driving a rental ford escape. Hit the front suspension and bounced up into the rear shock mount. The worst part was that it flew out behind me and into the air and wiped out the front end of a Golf GTI. Guy was a little shaken up but ok. His car was toast though. Eighty miles an hour into a paving stone will do some damage.

    Wow... That'll wake you up.

A number of years ago I just missed hitting a wheelbarrow that flew off the top of a full size pickup from a roofer. It bounced and landed in between the middle/left lane on... I95 in CT (Stamford). I just squeezed by as I crapped my pants!

I was coming around a corner and saw a guy walking up the shoulder on my side moved over slightly toward the center of the road. Well it was a set up he apperently took some construction cones and put them in the center of my lane 3 wide i had nowhere to go and couldn't stop quick enough i ran over them I hit all 3 one got stuck up under the middle of my truck. It knocked the driverside cat, shield loose i didn't need it anyway LOL.

Wow! Good thing they weren't full of drywall mud. Shoot even empty they could have taken out a headlight, or worse.

Years ago, (1985) I ran over one of those folding traffic barriers that have the flashing yellow light on top doing about 65 mph while driving a '81 Nissan 280ZX. I couldn't believe it when I checked for damage and there wasn't any!...

I almost ran over some of that 4" plastic pipe once, swerved just in time.
When I first saw it I thought it was a piece of steel pipe, almost shit a brick.

Poor little car behind me was so close to my rear end the driver had no time to react, had to hit the pipe.
She pulled over and I'm sure she was cleaning out her undies.;)
Maybe nest time she will not follow so close.

I just almost killed a bitch a couple hours ago. She come riding her bike out of the police dept parking lot, from around a wall, talking on the cell phone, didn't even stop or even look. Just came out into the middle of the road. If I had been a second sooner, I would be picking her out of my grill. Stupid people piss me off

I hit a 'gator' (truck tire tread) with my '04 G35 and caused about $3800 in damage.

Broke the polycarb frame that housed the radiator, broke the radiator, fan, and ruined my serpentine belt.

I was PISSED, to say the least. Had to pay my deductible, but the insurance never went up.

Last summer on a mountain highway a VW was following me too close. There was a rock in the road that passed harmlessly under my Tacoma. There was a loud crash when the VW hit it. (S)He didn't back off, slow learner.
