Michelin LTX AT 2s-anybody have 'em?

Last night I just ordered a set of 265/70-17 from Tire Rack but have to delay the delivery. My shop can't mount them till 4/13 and would rather not have them sit there for a week.
I've read reviews and they're said to be a good tire.
I don't do off road and not much snow driving so I figure they would do well all around driving.
Anyone have any imput good or bad on this tire?

I was looking at them at Costco, from what I have heard they are worth the extra cash. I think they where $ 214 a tire installed.

$198 +$14 install.
$181 at Tire Rack with $17 shipping but no sales tax like Costco.
Now I heard tires at Costco are like name brand plumbing items and other things at Home Depot and Lowes.
Same name products but the specs are different.
Don't know if that's true or not.
I called Michelin yesterday to see if they had any rebates because Costco shows one along with discount tire but Tire Rack didn't.
The Michelin rep said they would send me a redemption form to recieve a $60 rebate.
I mentioned about hearing that Costco has the LTX AT2 but I've heard the specs are different. The rep didn't agree or deny anything. In fact she seem to skate by that.
Take it for what it's worth.

Thanks David but my buddy owns a shop in Augusta outside of Newton. He's doing my 5100s install the same day or I'd use your shop instead of driving the 75 mile round trip to his shop.
The tires are being shipped there.
I hope these LTX2s balance easy.My Silent Armors were a bear to balance.

Curious as to where in Clifton?I live near Montclair State University.

Michelins by far are the best all around tire on the market, the French do 2 things right, croissants and tires. Michelins are worth every penny extra, rotate every oil change, keep them aired up and you can 80,000 miles out of those.

I think that is was this tire that came on my 2007 Tundra as an option from SET ??? It was a good tire too.

I love Michelins and my favorite tire is their "Michelin Pilot Series". I put Michelin Pilots on a 2004 Titan and it did wonders for that truck.

The good thing about the LTX is that it handles well and wears good.

The bad thing about the pilot is that it wears fast due to a softer rubber compound.

You will like your LTXs.

Thanks for the heads up man. I think I am going to pass on the Michelin's and I am going to get a set of Firestone Destination AT's.

I've never used Michelin truck tires, but I had Pilot Exalto A/S tires on my Accord and they were the best tires I've ever had on any vehicle hands down. Worth the extra money IMO.

I have LTX M/S on my truck and they are fantastic. Excellent wet grip and they see to be wearing very well!

Joe,I've got the standard LTX's and am very happy with them.Looking at the AT-2's I find myself admiring the more aggressive tread pattern.I think it's going to look really good with what you have planned for your truck.Again,I have the 265/70's as well and can honestly say that I have not noticed any negative road feel.Keep in mind that with the conditions of our roads up here, they could be square and I likely wouldn't notice.

I've got around 22K kms on mine and when I get a second I'll try to post a pic of the tread wear. The main reason I bought these tires is because a number of guys that I work with who do a ton of driving swear by them and use them repetedly.

If I had any negative feed-back it would be with the winter traction. It was OK but just OK.I guess it's tough to have perfect everything and the tread pattern of the standard LTX is a little close for serious winter or hardcore off-road use.Having said that,I've had mine on for two winters now and it's nothing a quick flick of the wrist on the instrument panel doesn't fix.
