    Hello Forum,

I have an '08 SR5 DCSB & I've been thinking of upgrading the front & rear seats to the TRD ones. Hopefully I can find a good used set either in silver like my seats now or black. From the pics that I've seen & the threads that I've read the TRD's are more comfortable & I can see the difference. However, all the talk is regarding the front seats. Are the back seats the same on both models?

I'd like to upgrade all 4. I know this truck is advertised as a 5 passenger vehicle but 3 average sized adults in the back seat for more than 2 hours will tend to get uncomfortable. These trucks are narrow & there's no mod for that obviously but I would like to have more comfortable seating if possible.

Also, since the TRD seats appear to be bigger will there be less leg room front & rear?

    Thanks
    :)

I find it a bit funny how Toyota can't get the standard Tacoma seat right. I put seats from a 2007(I think) Scion XB on my first gen and they are much more comfortable and are higher quality than any Tacoma I have sat in new or old.

Direct bolt on? Probably none, but minor to major modification I would say almost all but the big Tundra and Van seats.

It's just weird now even a Camry that costs half as much as the Tacoma has better seats.

chrome on front painted to match, satoshi grill done by myself, BHLM, billys all the way around with ome springs upfront and LR ucas with wheelers 3 leaf progressive pack in the rear, mb gunner wheels powdercoated black on 285/75r16 nitto trail grapplers, tinted all the way around and on windshield, pioneer dbl din touch screen with two 10's behing the seat and new speakers all the way around and certain interior parts painted to match, also have a road wire leather kit black with red stitching sitting here waiting for me to find time to install it!
Yeah put leather in my sr5 and accidentally ordered the kit for the sport and the back seats fit perfect but front seats are different and I had to order different ones..

Oh man.... I couldn't disagree more with this. Not knocking your seats brother but I had a Scion Xb and they were the most uncomfortable seats I've ever set in (for any length of time anyway).

We drove it to Colorado back in 2009 and my back was killing me after a couple of hours of driving. I ended up buying a small pillow and putting it behind my back for some relief.

We just drove straight through from Durango CO. to AR. last week (17 HR drive) and I never got tired. We stopped 4 times on the way back. The truck is just a nice place to be. I love the TRD seats.

I know everyone is screaming for a re-design but I love the truck just the way it is.

I agree but its not just the seats, the tires are an all season where most people want a more aggressive tire like the BF Goodrich all terrain which cost just a few dollars more.

Not true. The fabric is different. You get a Jeep and your mind goes to mush.

At the risk of hijacking the thread :p you probably had the smaller, newer seats. I had these XB seats. Which by the way are still basic with no airbag or power anything and way more comfortable than the trucks I've sat in on the dealer showroom.

I know that :infantry: and I made it clear I did this on a fist gen. I also said the base second gen up to the newest trucks in the showroom have crappy seats too.
