You don't have a problem with it... especially not on a '13.

If blocked, it will likely throw an evap code.

hello missioncruiser, did you ever resolve your overflowing gasoline issue? I recently acquired a 2013 quad cab 4x4 that has the same problem. It matters not which gas station I visit; the petrol spews out when the tank is full. Introducing the gas VERY slowly will reduce spewage but rarely eliminate it.
    Any insights appreciated.

Stick the nozzle all the way in.

I bought 2002 Ranger new, the tank wouldn’t take more than an few seconds of gas at a time. Called the dealer, suggested different pumps and stations which I already tried. Brought it back and they diagnosed some sort of vent valve failure. They said they swapped out the tank from a different truck and it was fine for another 150k..

Thanks for the feedback and sorry to lose missioncruiser especially prior to some additional clues about the surging gasoline issue.
Definitely leaning towards some problem with venting but what and where is TBD.

My 08 does this every single time I fill up, for a year now. They were supposed to fix it when the frame was replaced (for an additional cost) but said the vent is clear. I guess the evap cooler is next up. To all of you who say it's the station or the driver, you are not correct. My data set is plenty large enough to rule that out. Just because YOUR truck doesnt do it, doesnt mean the OP or mine dont.

Anyone have a link to an evap replacement video, I cant find one .

My first gen has always done this since day one, and Everything on my evap checks out. I have found one station locally that does not, but the pumps are noticeably slower filling. My theory is that the filler neck is far to narrow, and as the tank nears full the pump cannot react fast enough unless you pump slow.

2013 Tacoma 4DSB w / 50k miles. I experienced what seems a similar problem immediately after I bought the truck apx one year ago.I took it back to the dealer the next week with issues of gasoline gushing back out of the filler port every time I filled up the tank. Pretty much all I got as a solution was shrugged shoulders and dumb looks.
So far the best and the only and actually a pretty effective solution has been to estimate the number of gallons I will need at fillup time and to slow the gas nozzle down as slow as it will go for the last couple of gallons. It takes some patience but so far has been 98% effective.
