These are installed. Can't say much about their performance until it gets dark.

I can say that there is zero radio interference unlike the ones I had previously.

Those look awesome. The construction is far superior to the old style. I can't wait to see them in action.

These are maybe 25% brighter than the 35 watt version.

The color temperature is exactly the same, despite the ratings on Lifetime's website.

The color temperature is also too high. 4700K would be ideal.

Just like the 35 watt version, the high beams are almost useless. I'm beginning to think the problem is with my housings.

If you aim the lights so the low beams are where they should be, the high beams light up the tree tops and nothing else. They project almost no light to the road surface.

The only time the high beams are effective, is if you aim the lights at the ground, making the low beams useless.

Again, I think the problem is with my housings. When the high beams are on, they output a tremendous amount of light, but you can't put it on the road.

There is great potential in these lights, I just need to find a way to utilize it. Aftermarket housings may be the next step.

    Installation

A bit more involved than the 35 watt version.

You have to cut a hole in the rubber boot for the light wire to come through. I was not keen on this, but I did it anyway. I'll go back and silicone it tonight.

Also, with the new fan housing, the boot "scrunches" up around the fan, mostly covering the vent holes. This is big problem. I expect these lights to fry quickly.

    Glad I didn't upgrade. I'm assuming you're talking about the $250 version?

    Yes I am.

I'll try to get a picture of the "scrunching" tonight.

some of this, a little of that
Did they seem to throw farther than the originals, or are they simply brighter?

A little brighter, but from what I've seen so far, they hardly throw at all.

I talked to Lifetime this morning, this is what they said:

"We have the 70 watt headlights in a 2013 Tacoma that is used as a daily driver. When we installed the lights we did have to adjust the aiming, when it was done the low beams are really bright in front of the truck and the high beams shoot straight out. It did take a little while to get used to them because they are so bright in front of the truck that if you look at the road there you kind of lose how bright they are at distance."

I will adjust them exactly the way they did tonight, and report back.

My motorcycle needed a readjust when I installed the hi/low bulbs, my Tacoma did not need a readjust when I installed mine as i get plenty of distance throw out. I know some of the prior 2012's were adjusted very low from the factory, so it would not surprise me if your's need's a re-aim as well.

That's all I've been doing is changing the aim on these, trying to find the sweet spot.

I'll adjust them exactly as they say. If that doesn't work, back they go.

That sounds like a really odd way to adjust headlights. Honestly, when I adjust my headlights I drive out to a very dark area and adjust them based on how much useable light I have on the road. I'll find some sort of landmark and drive out some distance from it I feel is good and begin my adjustments.

My driveway is perfectly level, so here's what I'll do to appease Lifetime:

    1) Park 20 feet from the garage.
    2) Measure from the ground, to the center of my headlight.
    3) Turn the high beams on.
    4) Measure from the ground to the center of the "spot".
    5) Adjust until the "spot" is the same height as the headlight.

If the results suck, back to Lifetime they go....

So I did this.........and they aren't too bad. Low beams are a little low, but I'll see if I get used to it.

Maybe I'm spoiled by the HID's in my Audi, so somebody else needs to bite the bullet and get these for a second opinion.
