My 07 TRD O/R's rear chrome bumper is rusting around the license plate. Has anyone else had this happen? The truck spent 2 years in Asheville, NC and then I've owned it the rest of the time in central KY. Our winters are fairly mild with some salt on the roads. Has anyone else seen this?

What does a OEM bumper cost if I purchased and installed?

Not going to happen in 30* and below weather.... Never did that with my Ford's and they never rusted.

My '05 from Massachusetts is fine with no rust, I'm positive it's seen more snow and salt then Kentucky. Poor plating in that year?

An OEM bumper could cost upwards of $800+

Mine is color matched and haven't noticed any rust. But....I did get a quote many years ago (I backed into a tree) for a replacement (body colored) was about $1200. Needless to say, I never replaced it.

Try this place - used OEM parts

Although, shipping is gonna kill you.

Try some junkyards... or go aftermarket.

Mine just looks like surface rust. I've been thinking of sanding and painting it self to stop the rust.

I had rust on my '10 rear bumper. I rubbed it lightly with a scotchbrite pad soaked in oil. It came off. Then waxed it. Sorry to say, our Tacos have shitty chrome.

That's one reason I now have a '13 Sport - no chrome bumper.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I used to get occasional rust on my '06 chrome bumper, especially around the license plate. A littler chrome polish and occasional coat of McGuire's wax kept it looking brand new for 175,000 miles. It never turned into an issue, but it is one that is common and I have read many others who experienced the same.
