It's difficult to tell by the picture, but that could be sealant that has found its way into the cooling system. Typically when somebody puts too much sealant on the water pump and after numerous heat cycles, the sealant breaks free and works its way through cooling system leaving deposits along the way.

However, that could be something else entirely. As recommened, a flush and coolant change maybe in order. Or, you can do the wait and see keeping a watchful eye on the temp gauge. But that stuff shouldn't be there.

Is it solid when you roll it between your fingers or is it gooey?

    Good luck,

Sealant would be my guess too.

What color is the coolant? Factory stuff is bright pink. Did someone before you do a flush and fill with another coolant?

I'll flush it out and put fresh one in tomorrow, the coolant looks pink but it looks like the water pump has been replaced.
