Have a 2009 DCLB 4WD with 5100 Billies set at 0 with OME 885x springs Light Racing UCA, TSB springs with 2" AAL in the rear. Recent alignment specs are 3+ caster and 0 camber and toe. Running 265-70-17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock wheels. Problem is bad bump steer and wobbling steering wheel on rough roads at low speeds. Steering tracks straight due to the generous caster. Steering is driving me nuts almost to the point of dumping everything and going back to stock configuration or getting something else. Does anyone have an answer why these trucks steering sucks! I can't figure it out. Love the truck hate the steering!!

Yard sale it and I am interested in your Light Racing UCA.

But seriously. How long have to had them on? Any settling yet? Any armor?

I can only speak to your 885s/5100. If you don't have armor, the bump steer does seem to be in full force compared to stock. I just put sliders on an have noticed a slightly reduction in bump steer. I am looking for UCA and skids now. Even with the DCLB the 885s can be stiff.

885 springs are definitely stiffer than stock but I was expecting that. Previously I had the 5100 set at 1.75 with stock springs. Same steering complaints but wandered more. Before putting the 885 springs in I measured the height. 885's raised it another inch from the previous setup. Couple weeks later checked height and it settled back to where it was before the new springs.
Figures someone would chime in looking for my Light Racing UCA. Not for sale yet! Nice setup and easy to install. I just don't know what else to do. Had actually thought of dumping the Nitto's and going with Dunlop's or Goodyears. Never really liked the Nittos's from the beginning. If you are old enough to remember bias ply tires, that's how I feel the Nitto's ride.

I have a stock 13 dcsb sport and toyota says I'm nuts but slow speeds it will pull the wheel if only one wheel hits a bad spot

I wonder if it's more prevalent in the Sport models than the Off Road models. Mine is a Sport and have owned since new. Never noticed the symptoms till I started changing components.

Ultimately changing the suspension setup does effect the way the components work together. I wonder if the additional adjustment with uca's is still off a bit causing your bumpsteer. Shouldn't caster be closer to 2.8?

My caster is slightly over 3. I don't think a half degree or less is going to make that much difference. Like I said it tracks well at speed it's just the low end where I am having all the bump steer.

Update. Bought 235/85/16 General Grabbers AT/2's for winter and they totally transformed the steering. Tracks well at low speed and bump steer is all but gone. Had a feeling it was the Nittos. Still have about half life on the Nittos so will use them for summer use.

Thnx for updating...yeah I had a feeling these things are little to bulky in combination with rims causing bump steer- btw, you said stock rims?17" I didn't know they came stock w/ 17's?

Sport comes stock with 17". Bought 16" steelies for winter wheels. Grabbers are a great traction tire for the money. Kinda like the tall skinney configuration of the 235/85/16. Great in snow. Nittos were never very good in snow at least in my experiance.

I've experienced the same thing. What I've discovered after a LOT of messing around with things is that the toe settings particularly in your alignment are largely responsible. I'm talking down to micro turns on the tie rods. 0 toe seemed to be better than toed in at all. Make sure to mark your alignment with paint now so you have a reference. Try adjusting one side SLIGHTLY out. Like a few hairs of a turn. See if that does anything for you. It helped mine.
