After years of wanting, researching, and dreaming I finally purchased my first Tacoma! This is the start of my expedition Tacoma build. A build which will take several months and thousands of dollars when they become available. I am planning on not only to use my Tacoma as a daily driver to/from work, but to explore.

If you have ideas/advice let me know!

Ok I noticed my center console needed to be organized. I googled a bit and found one I liked/wanted, but it was over $20 made for some plastic. Here it is...http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B00A5UEOLG

Therefore, I went to Michaels because Lowes didn't have the material I needed. It was a simple build...measure twice and cut once. I'll go back and make it look nicer, but for now it's good.

Good luck with your expedition build! Make sure to google 'Expedition Portal' and look around! Most the builds on here aren't really expedition builds.

This was my favorite mod! I built it myself with some acrylic and a Dremel! The best part is the closing cubbie in the center! It holds so many more things and I can always find exactly what I need out of there. My favorite part is the double hinged top on the cubby in the center. I can have my wallet on it and just open up one flap to get to things in there or I can open both flaps if I need to put something bigger in there. As you can see, I also wired in an inverter so I can power things. I was going to place it under the seat and just put a plug in the center console, but on the Black n Decker inverter I got you have to hit the power button to turn it on every time you want to use it, so I put it in there and made the power button easily accessible. I don't use the inverter as much as I thought I would but it was worth $40.

*It took me 3 tries to get to this one, I mocked up the first one with MDF and duck-tape.

I tried selling these on here, but even at minimum wage for my time and the cost of materials it was more expensive than anyone was willing to pay...

There are several good overland builds here, and at expedition portal as well. You might be able to read through those and see what worked and what didn't for many others before dropping coin on items you may already have in mind. Good luck and keep us posted, I love a good overland set up.
