I like those NF bags you have. Are they waterproof to some extent?

    Completely

Here is a picture of them at elevation. We zipped them up at around 6500' and this is what they looked like at a little over 12000'. They blew up like a baloon. Water and Air tight.
We went through some serious rain, snow, etc. on this trip with no issues what-so-ever. This bed set up is the best set up that I have found.
GSC waterproof boxes to store tools, backpacks, etc.... in and The North Face Duffel bags for our cloths.

If you do... Try to get them off of Sierra Trading Post if they still have them available. I bought each for $129 and on Amazon the "medium" bags were over $200 and they didn't even offer the Large which is what these are.

OEM Cross bars are 3" wider than the widest landing points of the basket. Need the extension which is 18" extra.

Rola cargo carrier with extension. I used the recommended loctite silicone to fill in the gaps and prevent water seeping in. It will go on the OEM rack in a couple days. The rack is robust and the weight shows.

    Bone f’n stock for now
I just want a basket for my bed and brackets from voodoo to put my spare in. I got a full size spare and wheel to match my other 4 and it just sits in the garage. It won't fit stock.

Not that that won't work but I've got a set of KB Voodoo's racks and they are good no doubt. But there is no way I would put that much weight on the rack since it connects to the cleats. I had a lot of flex and bounce with just the rack and about 40lbs of cloths in waterproof bags. I can't imagine it would go well with a full size spare especially if you hit some large bumps.

Previous set up. Voodoo's racks with a couple of old Yakima crossbars underneath to help with the flex. It helped some but it still bounced with the weight of the basket and bags.

    Doesn't bounce at all now.

If you are looking to put that much weight in the back you might reconsider. Just my personal experience with them. They were perfect for what I used them for but that much weight on those cleats? Nope.

I think you may have gotten some of the first generation bars that were made of lighter gauge material.

One member (I forget who) has used his brackets to mount a full size spare, although I do agree, that might be a little too much weight for the brackets and the cleats.

The bars are fine. The cleats are the weak point. That is where I noticed most of the flex where they mounted to the cleats. No matter how tight I tightened them they would still flex.

I would never have a problem mounting a bike or something similar to them but nothing with "substantial" weight. Not because of the bars but because of the cleats.
