Toyotas hold their value, which in turn makes its harder for them to total the vehicle. $8k damage compared to a $24-$28k valued truck.

OK here is the last update. Truck is back home and looks like new. I'm amazed at what those guys can do.

Been there ... $5500 hail damage 6 months after I bought my 2010. Had to cut the roof off mine too. As long as they know what they're doing, it'll come out good as new ... maybe even better as the factory paint isn't that great to begin with. :)

That's what the repair shop said about the paint.

Man sorry to hear that, glad you got it fixed though. Mine took about 6.5k in damage last summer while it was parked and i was about an hour away working. Totaled, but i didn't have the heart to get rid of her.

Wow they did a great job. In life finding a good auto body shop is as important as finding a good doctor.

The repairs look great. But I'd still feel like I was raped.

My fiance's forester looks just like that. Massive hail damage in it, and still like that.

Hail is painfully damaging. Buddy of mine had his Ranger written off by the insurance co because of hail damage in Alberta.
Something like $9k in damage to a $10k truck.

On the plus side a hail damaged write-off would be an awesome truck to buy back from the insurance company. Nothing really wring with it besides appearance
