Yea the 9.5 hybrid is a good axle, I can understand that combo.

Up next: roof/bed rack + dry storage, skids, bumpers, fiberglass, power wire upgrade + frame grounds, LTO battery swap, air compressor, on board pressurized water, powered cooler, suspension seats, frame reinforcement, solid motor/trans mounts.
blew the 8.4 in my TRD sport last night gunning it out of a turn on pavement. 178k mikes on the odo and only really did some real off-roading once this past weekend. Heard a weird noise before I got my lift installed a few months ago (kind of like a u-joint or carrier bearing on its way out but had them all checked/replaced) and it’s worsened to a blown pumpkin after Rausch Creek

I've got a question. I have a 2011 Sr5 with a rear end code of A02A. Reading around on here I found that the code translates to a 8" 4.10 open diff. Any one heard of this?

I am confused because I've been reading and it appears that the 8" comes in the trd with an elocker and I do not have a TRD or an elocker but I have an 8" diff apparently. I was wanting to put 4.56 gears in the front and back and was thinking about throwing some lockers at it while I was in there but having an 8" seems to limit my options. Unless I am mistaken that is. Could use some much appreciated direction on the subject.

I would give ECGS a call and let them know what you want to do. You have factory 4.10 gears, so you'll need thin cut gears for the front diff since you have the 3.90 and up carrier. The link you posted does not specify which type the front 4.56s are so you'll want to make sure you get the right ones ordered for the front diff.

Here's an example of the R&P you need for the front
Toyota FJ Cruiser/ 05+ Tacoma, 4runner- 8.0 Clamshell IFS Front Ring and Pinion- 4.56 (eastcoastgearsupply.com)

Because i wanted to regear my truck and they told me i needed thin cut gears for the 3.90 and up carrier since i had factory 4.10s. I wanted to use an LSD designed for the 3.73 and down carrier/thick cut gears, and it would not work with my setup
