Comparing a Cooper to an M3? 25k vs 65k price tag.

He'll miss the truck when he needs to carry or tow something, but not while he's whipping around corners.

A clean second hand M3 can be had for $25k - $30K (the Cooper he bought is also second hand).

All I'm saying is that there are so many cool cars to buy in the same price range.....why would anyone buy a Mini Cooper?

    Personal preference?

Personally, I'd steer clear of Bimmers in any iteration (BMW or Mini), as they tend to expire right when the warranty does. I get what you're saying though. An M3 is on a whole 'nother level of performance. I'd rather have an IS-F, or if I got the money... a GT-R. :D

    No

On top of my fiance's highlander.

I'm hoping to do most of the work myself.

You're a doll :) Just what I needed to hear.

    Thank you!

    ha.ha.

I wish I could've kept both... actually I want a bigger Tacoma, mine was just the wrong truck to mod. It was a lame duck. Thanks!

Agreed, yet way more expensive than I bought the Cooper S for. (I got a good deal)

    Thanks for the good wishes.

Agreed, I love to stir the pot.

I did lol, I am pleased with the purchase, Thanks!

Yea, I'm gonna get some wheels and tint it first, then intake/exhaust... lastly a turbo upgrade and beefier intercooler.

    HAHAHAHAHAHHA, Totally!

Thanks honey! There are some really sick Cooper's though.

AGREED! That was my biggest mistake... Buying my first truck, knowing NOTHING about them, and buying the lowest possible option. 2wd at that.

I will, bigger and better. I'm not out of the truck scene, just thoughtfully planning what is next. In the mean time, love the heck out of the Cooper and make it awesome and fast!

    Good point.

If I had the money to buy a 60k car, I wouldn't be on this forum. I personally love the IS-F and the GT-R even more... just out of my budget.

Here's the deal guys and girls... I bought this vehicle because it was a really good deal. I got a vehicle that was 3 years newer, less than half the miles the Tacoma had, and financed for half the interest I was paying on the Tacoma... all for a cheaper monthly payment.

I had the worst possible model of Tacoma, finding upgraded parts was a pain. The cabin space was too small. My interest was high and, in turn, so were my payments. I never took the Tacoma off-road, but once. I mainly commute to work on the freeway.

As for the selection, the prices at all the local dealers for the "cool" cars are outrageous and you typically can't find one that hasn't already been beat to hell and properly maintained the way a "sports car" should. I would like to take it down some canyons, and this Cooper drives through the corners better than a Porsche (look it up, it's true) plus I get 13 more MPG, and can fit more people in it.

After careful consideration and valuation, the Mini was a very wise decision... One owner, all service records available, below KBB... I mean, it would be foolish to stick with the Tacoma that I was overpaying for. Don't get me wrong, I loved that Truck.... It just wasn't the right Tacoma in the first place. Someone will love that truck, it just won't be me. I'll be back on here with a wayyy better Tacoma to mod the hell out of.

To the friends I've made on TacomaWorld, Thank you for all your support and help. This is by far the best car forum around, I've been on a few... You guys are, by far, the most helpful and knowledge filled community.
