    I need a cost effective solution for rear axle wrap. I just noticed my truck was making the annoying thud/clunk today upon stopping only... it already has the TSB rear leaf packs (4 leaf)... my truck is a 2012 tacoma v6 6-speed manual double cab short bed 4x4 ..... I just read a very nice writeup by iDigTulsa but then realized that it was occurring on his first gen tacoma with the 3 leaf pack. But from reading it seems that leaf spring helpers are a good fix for my needs since I dont do any offroading or anything.... but does anyone know of any other fixes? Thanks everyone.

    There's a couple threads on this. I've heard tighten your u bolt more. Some people say you can put the clamp on overload leafs in front of the axle. Best option is better leaf packs or traction bars

    Yeah, I used something on my old Silverado, that I actually picked-up from a "Titan" forum. Simple, cheap set of aftermarket spring clamps, bolted up around the rear leaf springs about 6" from the axle(I believe towards the rear of the truck, but I have to verify that). Worked like a charm on my Silverado....

    That's another thing I was gonna suggest. That's basically what the overloads in front of the axle do. But I'm pretty sure the clamps are supposed to go in front of the axle. Not behind

    Ok good deal guys, are there any links to that one that one that goes in the front axle on the springs?? Ive never encountered this before so I don't have any clue what im buying.

    The first step is to tork your rear ubolts... They tend to losen up over time. The dealer should help you with this since your still under warrenty

    Alright, do you know off hand the torque spec for the u-bolts?? I have a good torque wrench at home I could torque them down with if they did loosen up lol

    Also curious about this.
    I recently put custom Alcan leaves on my rig, 7 or 8 leaf I think? And I still get a little bit of axle wrap. I need to retorque my ubolts, but I'm still curious about this clamp.

    HP60/14 bolt, Atlas 5.0.
    Traction bars or a spring under kit....Neither are cost effective.

    Actually, the factory torque specs for the U-bolts is 73 ft/lbs.

    going spring under will not fix axle wrap.

    im spring under and have axle wrap like a summa beech



    but it really depends on what is causing your axle wrap in the first place.

    Is your gas tank full? My has a noise in the rear end when the gas tank is full.......its just the gas sloshing around.
