I spoke with other 2.7L owners who said they had plenty of power and I could not pass up such a good deal for a 2013 with only 18K mileage. I am now a proud owner a 2013 2.7L 4x4 SR5!

I just drove it up from San Diego to the Central Coast with a huge smile on my face!
It actually handled the mountain passes much better that I thought the 2.7L was capable up and I still has gas in my tank...

Pictures coming later when it's light out...

Not true. My 1980 Toyota had the 20R 4 banger and kept up wheeling with the V8s all through the woods etc. Never an issue. Hell they bogged down more than I ever did. It was fun pulling them out however with my 4 banger.

As long as you don't go to any high elevations you might be okay.

I had a 1st gen PreRunner with a 2.7L. I loved the truck, but I always regretted not having the V6 and the 4x4. When I traded it in I got a '12 Off Road with the V6 and 4x4. I will never look back!

People rag on the 2.7l a lot but i love mine. Never really feel a lack of power other then on the highway.

I bought a 2.7 4x4 5 speed new in 05 and had it until 2010. Put 102k on it and had it been a double cab (impossible) I would still have it. My daughter outgrew the extended cab. I averaged about 23mpg the whole time I had it and I drive about 90 miles a day. Granted I do only drive my truck daily in the winter. But when I had that truck the switch between my old 325is and the truck each fall stung a LOT less and overall I was fine with the power of the 2.7 for my needs. I wouldn't consider it coupled to an automatic though.
