I put an end to that during the first sales pitch after I got my taco. Told the 4 salesmen that surrounded me like a pack of wild dogs about to get a meal, This Tacoma is going to be my son's first ride. The salesmen looked at me and said ohh when does he turn 16, come see me when he does. I said sure thing, he will be 2 in November. They disappeared never to return.

Nope, just a person who knows how to say no and get my point across the first time. Lifes to short to deal with sales people wasting my time. Learn how to say "NO".

This guy was just to nice to them and they took advantage of it.

When it comes to car dealers you gotta treat them all like a business transaction. Be firm and let them know your in charge. If you dont they smell fear and attack.

Oh and name calling... Thats the best you can do? Lol.:rolleyes::p

I don't know why anyone would be surprised at this sales tactic. They are sitting around waiting for interested car buyers to enter the lot. If they don't have any of those, then it's either make phone calls or go talk with the people who are there (for service).

They are just fishing around to see if anyone shows any interest that might be pursued. Customers just sitting there amongst all the shiny new vehicles. Hoping maybe that spurs a thought for someone to want something different than that what they are driving.

I said the "Sales people saw a weak person". Implying what the sales people might have seen, I did not call the OP weak. Reading 101:rolleyes:

You must work for CNN they only pick what words they want to quote too.

It's so nice to get behind the OP and support him. You go! Hold his hand and pat him on the head.. It will be ok...

The truth hurts, but it's the truth....If the OP came on here saying how he told the sales people to get bent or played similar head games with them, I would be more impressed at least he stood up for himself. But to come on here and complain about it and look for sympathy, I’m not offering any of that.

Quite a difference from the salesmen we have up here. I went in wanting to buy a truck, and couldn't get any to even try to help me out.
I had to drive 140km to a different city to find someone willing to get me a test drive.

Fuck the weak OP talk. The sales douches should have dispersed at the first mention of no thanks. Not had to be told 15 times or have OP act out and cause a scene just for them to fuck off. People in the parking lot need the attention like that, not people sitting in the service waiting area waiting to have something worked on, they obviously are not there buy something else. They might already be mad for having to be there to get something worked on and might not be good time to bug them. They'd be walking around outside looking at new shit or asking for sales help up front if they did wanna buy somethin new.

That's good right there. Sort of like the letters some of the dealers mail out in our area. "Our used car inventory now is very low and our records show that you own one or more of the select vehicles that we are urgently searching for.... yad yada."

Got one once when the newest vehicle in the driveway was an 8 year old and beat to heck Isuzu Rodeo.

I get a kick out those waste of money mailers. "You can get up to 11k"......Yeah right, when I have 500k miles on it and/or it's 25 yrs old you might get it back from me for 11k. :p

When I'm getting my Tacoma serviced, I always lie and say I'm interested in a Camry and schedule a test drive for that day. I drop off my keys, get theirs, and drive the Camry to work. Then I bring it back, give them the keys, tell them I'll think about the Camry but have a raging case of the craps so I can't stay and talk about it.

I leave my brother's contact info as the number to call and harass me about the Camry. Totally entertaining for me, through-and-through.

mini antenna... I'm getting to it! Sheesh!
I never use dealers for any service, unless its warranty-related. Thankfully I can do a lot myself and beyond that I have a good mechanic.

Instead I get robo-calls and mailers every month saying, "We have a buyer for your 2011 Tacoma. Please contact us immediately so that we can make this sale!"

My immediate reaction is: How DARE you try to sell MY paid-off truck. Of course, I know its just advertising bull, but the audacity of these jerks is unbelievable.
