Axle Nut Size & Torque spec- 09 Taco 4wd

    Just get my tools together for axle change out. I have read some say 35mm or 36mm. Thx

    Its 35mm and 173ft.lb. torque.

    A 36mm socket will fit but it is sloppy. If that is all you have a 6 point socket would be preferred to a 12 point IMHO.

    It's a 35 mm for 2010 tacoma. The front bearings are on Amazon for cheap. More like 34.5. But no one makes a 34.5. The god dam bearing through dealer is 165$. Need to do a crossover. It's a NSK bearing. Seal prices redonkulous too

    Just an FYI a 1-3/8" socket works perfect. Practically a perfect fit…I have an 09 and have used it.

    I ended up using a 1-3/8". It worked fine and did not marr up the hex on the nut.

    Do I need BOTH a spindle socket, with the four prongs, and a axle nut socket to work on the axles?
