are you a 4x4 or prerunner. City MPG is only 16 for 4x4 and 17 for pre runners.

You may want to drive out of your way once in a while. About once a month i head two towns over just to give the truck a nice health stint of freeway driving since it spends 80% of its life in the city. Since i started doing that, i haven't had any moisture problems in my oil (that yellow stuff in your oil cap). Also, change your plugs, and have your driveline (not necessarily the engine oil, but the transmission, t case and diffs) serviced and if you want, you can change them to synthetic. I hope in doing those things, mine will go up a little more

They are watering down our gasoline with ethanol, is the only explanation I have.

This is in San Diego County, Enviro-nazi blended fuel, so we use more gas!??? Cross the border into Mexico, use Pemex gas (no ethanol) and I get 2+ more mpg off the bat. If Mexico wasn't 50 miles away, and a 2 hour border wait to get back into the U.S., I would buy all my gas there!

I used to average 16+ mpg (did the Fuelly.com thing a long time)... and the past year+ I get only 14.5-15.5 mpg avg. I stopped posting on Fuelly because it was just no change.

I have tried Shell and Chevron over Arco and Costco... no difference or not enough to offset the higher price. Same story with premium over regular... in my normal daily driving.

Only on all highway drives did I get about 1 mpg more using premium... again, not worth the added cost.

I have a 2010 Double Cab, V-6, Automatic, 4WD Off Road TRD now with 61,000 miles on it.

With a 1 mile drive that is definitely city mpg. I'd say you're mpg is pretty spot on. The 16 mpg from the manufacture is only an estimate of what you should expect.

Of course your mpg sucks, your trips are a mile, your engine isn't even getting close to warmed up.

Why does it even matter if a gallon last 2 weeks?

Take your truck out on the freeway or highway that you live closest to and get it up to speed.

    This would be why.

The engine isn't warm so its burning more fuel. You burn almost twice the fuel when your engine is cold.

Contrary to some people's belief it has nothing to do with ethanol.(well.. VERY LITTLE)

If you drive 1 mile to work and live in the US with your cheap gas you shouldn't be complaining, nor should you be even driving to work at 1 mile out. I live 12km from work and I bike every day that its warm enough and isn't raining.

But then again we have reason to with gas price at 1.40/L, thats 5.30 cents per US gallon.

The trick is to ease the gas pedal at traffic lights. I got a 4x4 DC auto with a 3 inch lift, 32" BFG all terrains and an ARB bumper on the front. I average around 16.5-17mpg highway and city. I used to get 15mpg, but after I hit 40,000 miles, it went up 1-2mpg. I guess it takes time for the engine to break in to its sweet spot.

Also if I go over 70mph, it'll drop back down to 15mpg. I don't do a lot of highway driving, and won't normally go over 65
