Hey guys I have a 2013 Tacoma PreRunner sport double cab. I love my truck it has 7900 miles. I have some parts in my garage that I have not installed yet. ( icon stg 2 lift, rims/tires, intake, step rails, etc )

I'm really debating weather I should trade my truck in for a 2014 Tacoma 4x4 TRD off road, and use those parts towards the 4WD.

I live in Orlando, FL and dont really use the 4WD but would like to ocasionally go to maybe Tampa and go off road. 90% of my driving in in the city.

If I was to trade, the best deal I can come across is the following:

I owe 17,000 on my truck, if I trade, my new balance would become 22,500... so basically going one year newer, 7900 miles to 0 miles, 2wd to 4wd for 5500 bucks. Is it worth it? plus I'm going to lose 0% for 36 months... granted I can get .49% with my credit union for 36 months.

    Should I just keep it?

Any ideas? or advice would be greatly appreciated

If you are going to do it, why not wait a few more months and get a 2015?

Maybe wait for the 2015 model and try to work out a better deal with the dealer? Make it seem like they need to make the deal more than you do.

i say keep it. No matter what the numbers are, end of the day you are losing some money. also i would do it for a 2015 if anything changes.

I think it's worth it as long as you're financially comfortable with taking on the extended balance.

I bought the lift kit / tires / rims... that's why I'm debating if it's worth doing it on a PreRunner... even though I never really go off roading.

2015 models are getting a minor redesign, just the front end changing a little bit.

    I'm lifting mainly for looks...

Then why even bother with a 4x4? If you're doing it for looks and don't really take it anywhere to offroad.

Save the money and put it towards your mods.

Get a 4x4, once you put all that stuff on you might wanna do more offroading.

Get the 4x4 now because your going to start fixing it up and then wished you had Got 4x4. I use mine on the street 90% of the time but when I do go offroading , hunting , camping I can just turn a knob and enjoy the 4x4 .
