Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I broke 4 on my 2006, I'd have changed them but they had already grooved the fender flare. Sounds like the Huskys would cover the OEM marks?

Any idea of the dimensions on these?
Wondering how much short they are from the OEM ones.

Just bought my second Tacoma (2014)...it took me a few years to learn on my 06 that the front mud flaps are designed wrong. Once they broke, I bought the Husky brand flaps. Perfect fit and much better (stronger and shorter).

I haven't had my 14 for a week yet and already ordered the front set off Amazon...besides, I'm Amazons bitch:D

I use PlastiColor 11" x 19" mud flaps they fit better than any of the other brands I have tried. Cover up everywhere the originals did,but are soft and flexible. Just as long and wide as stock but don't make annoying noise when hitting the ground. Use can use the original screw if you have them. I just make some relief cuts in the material so I can fit them to the original mounting places, or you can use the self tapping screws they come with and put them right on the plastic fender flare. Can be found at a lot of auto parts stores and Amazon.

Only con is they will get ripped off if you encounter an obstacle in reverse that is tall, but any of the stuck length flaps will do that. They are too close to the wheel. If you go shorter than you will be peppering a lot of areas with debris, and that's not good in the rust belt states. If you hang them further back you don't protect everything either.

Since I like how the OEM mudflaps mold into the fenders, what I did was cut the OEM plastic mudflaps to as short as possible, while still maintaining a lip to poprivet some rubber mudflaps to. Best part is that the cost was less than $15 to do both fronts.
Pics are in an older post here:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/328586-mud-flaps-lack-thereof.html#post8660391

I probably could have gone shorter on the OEM plastic mudflap by cutting it with a curve to it, rather than straight. But I can always come back and cutoff more.

I put 1st gen tacoma flaps on mine, looks much better and they are flexy so they don't rip off or crack. My original ones would get jammed into the tire when I backed up in snow. These do too, but since they are soft it doesn't try to rip off.

don't have the dimensions, but holding them side by side they are about 4.5" shorter for the fronts. I don't have the rears

This is a good idea, pop rivets are your friend for many many applications. RokBlokz are great, I'm not sure why people quibble over spending $120 for four when universals will cost you $50 - $75 for four. Then, if you want to do it right with universals you have to make some spacers, get some longer bolts, get some washers, maybe even use pop rivets also.

Got my Husky front flaps yesterday...I had them for 4 years on my old Tacoma so I knew what I was getting...shorter, better (darker) black, and stronger.

    Some pics of the product

    Some stuff...
I've scraped and even snapped off both front and rear OEM flaps wheelin on moderately harsh trails.

^^^This is what I did FTW. $40 for front and rear plus a few bucks for mounting hardware. Flaps don't get caught up / snap off now when wheelin, and paint is still protected.

What you off-road guys need is someone to create a "quick-connect/disconnect" flap... you put them ON for hwy. OFF for off road... makes sense to me...

Come on... you inventers out there... this cannot be that hard and it looks like there is a good sized market for them...

    Go for it guys...!!

cut mine tonight. i used tin snips and 120 grit sandpaper on a sanding block.

if you measure from the middle of the bottom of the flap up to the truck the front mud flaps are 12" long and the rears are 10" long in stock form. at least on my 2009 that's how they are.

i cut 7" off the fronts and 5" off the rears. this makes the fronts and rears 5" long. i have lifting springs on the front so my truck sits level.

now they are both equal and much better looking and will not catch on curbs, speed bumps, or other off road obstacles. they were already scratched up a bit on the bottoms of the flaps front and rear from stuff i had scraped them on over the years.

took about 10-15min per flap but i'm ocd about things. cut them off and sanded them smooth.

the rears were a little harder to cut than the fronts.

bottoms of the flaps are about 13"-14" off the ground after cutting them.

the rears stick just below the level of the exhaust tip now.

the bottoms of the flaps are about even with the bottom of the center caps of the wheels.

i cut them basically in half.

i'm very happy with the results.

just curious, why would you want mud flaps? why not get side bars (nurf bars) if you look, especially on the street, they catch and deflect most of the throw. off-road, i assume you would not have them installed anyway.

if your worried about water and salt, just cut the oem flaps down to nothing tracing the body so everything is smooth.

    plus thy look kinda ugly...
