Just filled up my Tacoma today. Brand new, 3rd fill but this was only time I've taken it down to the light. As I understand it these trucks have 21 gallon tanks. With the light on, it's full after putting 16.9 gallons in. It's a 2014 DCSB TRD-O

4 gallons left is when the fuel light comes on I'm guessing?

You have some reserve fuel. If you would run the truck until it quit from lack of fuel you would see about 21 gallons to fill it up.

4 gallons reserve? You sure? My moms Volvo and our F150 both take around 21 and 17 gallons respectively when they're down to the bottom. Either way, means the mileage is a lot better than I thought it was!

The furthest I've gone with the light on was 25 miles and It took 18.5 gallons, so sounds about right.

Yes, the light goes off when you have about 4 gallons left. If you're not using (miles driven)/(gallons pumped) to get mpg then you're wasting your time and just guessing.

Haha! This might throw some people off since they don't use litres.

The most I have filled my truck was about 20 gallons. That was after running on the gas light for a ways. You should see up to 22 mpg on 2.7 liter, and about 20 mpg on the 4.0. Those should also be top end of fuel economy.

Cool. My last tank got about 16 mpg, mostly on a shitty stretch of highway. Right now I'm only at 734 miles, so I'm sure that will go up. Read enough to figure that after 1000 miles it should get better, maybe get synthetic oil then. Reckon I should air the tires up too. Thanks-stupid question.
