Anybody using the 22 inch Magnaflow muffler part #12586 on their Taco? If so how do you like it compared to stock and do you have any sound clips?

Thread Revival, Wondering the same. Cant find any sound clips of just a muffler swap.
Anyone with a 22" magnaflow post up!

I have the 18" nearly quiet as stock running down the highway at cruising RPM- if you want performance but want quiet then I can not imagine there being a quieter option than the 22"

I want some sound but quiet when just cruising. I don't want to hear it much at all when going down the highway at 2k rpms

I have the 22" magnaflow muffler. It's a tad bit louder then stock. Pretty quiet at cruising speed and at idle.

I have the Magnaflow off-road catback system. Small muffler, dumps before rear axle.
Sounds good, but the drone at certain rpm's can be annoying. I think the muffler is about 14-16".

thanks for the responses guys. maybe ill just try the 18". seams like the 22" might be a little to quiet. I still want to hear it when I give it throttle.

ive had Dynomax super turbo, and its too quiet. then I had a Aero Turbine 2525xl, that was too loud and put a resonator in and it made it almost perfect. these were on my previous taco
so I want to try something different.

I have the magnaflow 14"...I went in to get the 18" and the guy talked me into the 14"..here is why: I have an '06 and it has 4 catalytic converters. This limits the airflow greatly, or at least suppresses it. He said if I went with the 18", which is already a quieter muffler anyway, it would virtually make no difference than stock. I think it would've been a bit louder, but I understood what he was saying. The other I was considering was the 22" but after he took me under the truck and talked me through the cats, all 4 of them, we came to the conclusion that the 14" would provide the right sound I wanted. Here is the clip I made after it was installed. I've had it for maybe 6 weeks? No complaints yet. Wife doesn't mind it either and her only rule was it can't be too loud.

I had the 22" on mine for awhile. Not terribly loud, but I had drone with mine. Now, drone is very subjective to an individual. I have little tolerance for it. I took it off and put on a Borla, more $$$, but close to the same sound and very little drone.

huh, maybe I will just try the 18" and see what it sounds like. But I know I don't want anything smaller than that.

Dont know if you saw my other post but I had a little off idle harmonics to the muffler that I was not to my liking, I used a hose clamp to limit the case vibration. Just a tip in case you have something that you dont like in the sound of the muffler, could work with other brands too.
