ON a related note, you're not alone: 99% of the crap I do to my truck, the misses disapproves of. My advice: buy a very comfortable "dog bed" to put on the floor beside your bed

Truth

 

Bought my wife a new Acura RDX. Now she doesn't say anything when I do stuff to my truck. However, all Icon toys are here. That may change.

Non off roading, N-Fab, Smittybilt both offer what I think are good looking and functional step bars. Had the Smittys on one of my 2nd gen Tundras and liked them a lot. Make that moderate off roading.

 

Go on craigslist or the bst section and find a cheap set that are availble immediately, install these, order your good ones, then sell the other set when the good ones are on.

 

Got a set of chrome ones in my attic. Took me 10 mins with the air gun to take them off.

 

I personally wouldn't buy anything made by Body Armor 4x4, but the people in this thread seem to like them.

Not functional sliders but they look better than any nerf bars and seem to get the 3" nearly all back.
They're definitely not American made and since we have so many awesome fab guys here, I'd say support them if you can. But in the interest increasing your available options I thought I'd put that there

Edit: maybe I misspoke, in the past I've heard that they're made overseas but the company seems to based out of california. so who knows, but again, these are not at all functional rock sliders even though they claim to be. so if you offroad, look elsewhere

 

My wife encourages me to work on the truck and mod it. She is fine with whatever so long as she gets to have our 1972 FJ55 Landcruiser and a cat back sytem for her Mustang. lol.

She's short but sort of hops into the rig, we just picked up some BAMF sliders last weekend so soon it will be a little easier for her.

 

I just help my wife up in the truck using that "special" way. Works for both of us.

 

When I had an old lifted chevy and my (shorter) wife was knocked up she couldn't lift her leg high enough to get in.

This is what I did:

Grabbed a milk crate and threw it in the back of the truck.

I would open the door for her, place the milk crate and help her in.
Shut the door and return the crate to the bed behind her seat.

Worked great and she felt like a pregnant princess.

Boom. Chivalry.

I got my 4x Innovations sliders in about 2 weeks for a little over $200.

 

someone make them with a lockpin setup like a hitch, now that would be awesome.

easy install/removal than using nuts/bolts.
