well it had to happen eventually with the law of averages catching up to me. I have never hit anything bigger then a freaking rabbit but yesterday at around 4:30 or so hit a deer. My son and I were traveling on Hwy 260 to the rim to go turkey hunting. I had made the comment that I usually see a lot of deer and elk in this particular area when we see a deer jump across the roadway. I slow down and a group of about six or seven are standing alongside the road. One decides at the last second that climate change is a cause worth dying for(jking) and jumps out in front of the truck. slammed on the brakes, cussing and cursing, which did no good and smaked her but good. No airbag deployment which is good but I see pieces flying everywhere and pull off the side of the road. Walk to the front and see fluid squirting out, M*@#$%#&$$er. Go look at the deer and looks like she hit a tree after flying off my truck and died as we were walking up. Go back to the truck and try to assess the damage. tell me what you think. Gotta go look at it on Monday with the adjustor.

    UPDATE* 5\20\14

Well after chasing my truck around with the tow company (trying to get it to the body shop) and looking at it with the adjustor. Looks like I got a little structural damage, not bad and the adjustor says its a easy fix. radiator/ headlight support got bent a little so looks like a new radiator a/c cooler and tranny cooler. wont have an estimate until they tear it all down and see the amount of damage

Man, that sucks! I've got a Trail Gear tube bumper and I'm pretty sure it'd rip a deer to shreds if I hit one. Looks like you creamed that one pretty good! Get a nice, fat offroad bumper and it will never dent! Did you get to keep the meat?

Damn deer man, they are some stupid mother F$#%@&s. I had one clobber the rear side window/back corner of my cab in my truck when it tried to Michael Jordan over my truck. Plate bumpers are a great investment in deer country lol.

I hit an elk a few years ago just east of Christopher Creek. I was lucky though because I was in a big flatbed loaded with lumber that I was taking to a new home build in Linden. I just tagged the rear end of the elk and since the whole front of the truck is fiberglass, it tore the passenger fender off. Luckily no other damage and DPS let me drive it home. Seems to be a bad stretch of road to hit critters.

Hit a deer last fall. $2600 nothing structural, just all the plastic pieces, parts. Yours looks worse:eek: I'm still considering a plate bumper:confused:

I don't know... you hit a full size Mule Deer or Elk over 35mph, and I don't think a plate bumper will save the front end from damage.
