Not really, but I keep finding things to fix/replace.

    So far this week:
-Sent both bumpers and rock sliders(all CBI) to get re-powder coated. Very rusty!
-Noticed oil all over my ATO skid, tracing it to the front diff.-Oil ruined my skid plate paint job, so have to strip of oil and re-paint.
-Noticed a leaking driveaxle seal on the left side, pulled axle to inspect, only to find a bad wheel end bearing seal too!
-Torn boot on right side tie-rod end.
    -Carrier bearing worn out.
    -U-joints have some play.

Hoping all rear end grinding/clunking will be fixed by replacing carrier bearing and U-jounts.

What will I find next? haha.

At about 90,000 miles, so I guess its a reasonable lifetime for all the bearings/seals under tough driving conditions.

Back to the driveway to keep at it...

You live in VT I'm sorry to say this but every piece of metal will rust away since they salt the roads. If you don't want your truck to rust out from under you then I suggest either moving (highly unlikely) or simply getting under there and coating the metal yourself.

Replace the driver's side needle bearing in the diff, if you haven't done that already. Mine just failed. Replace it with the one from East Coast Gear Supply.

If you are lifted then i would say these are all reasonable wear indicators of a lift. Harsher angles/ more side load will wear a seal faster.

Yes, I live in VT, and yes, the tacoma is lifted. I am 100% satisfied with the truck. Just trying to catch things BEFORE they blow up... My normal mantra is drive it until it breaks, but I'm trying to be nicer to the taco.

I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement boot for the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft. The local dealer said it wasn't an available part...

I'm thinking of getting the truck waxoyl'd for the upcoming winter. That stuff seems pretty good for rust prevention. I'll be trying to brush POR15 in the rust spots in the meantime. They haven't gotten too bad on the frame yet.

At least VT uses more sand than salt. Here in NH they put a half inch coating of rock salt on 1/4" of snow.

Maybe the Tacoma was not designed for off-roading. I have an 8.5 year old truck with 142k miles and have had none of those issues yet. Just a thought
Not making fun of you just making a statement

Gotta love the rust belt states, don't blame the truck. Blame the department of transportation and the mason Dixon line.

Yes it is. It is a part manufactured by Spicer. Call them to get a part number and then order it from Northern Drivetrain. It is relatively inexpensive.

    Your statement is stupid.

Ordered a boot from Northern Drivetrain yesterday. I had almost ordered one from Dennysdriveshaft.com but they wanted $18+ shipping on a 12 dollar part!

Northern was much more reasonable on shipping.
