    Hi guys,

I noticed in cold temperature especially in the morning that when shifting it's hard and stiffer (auto trans) that when the truck is hot and has been running for a while. No lights are coming in and don't have problems with the transmission while driving.

I had the trans fluid changed about 4 months ago. I read somewhere that it can sometimes do that in cold temperature and the fluid needs to warm up.

I have looked on the site and people had different opinions and diagnostics on the issue from electrical to the linkage. I actually greased up the links and thought that it did help a bit. Keep in mind I live in Canada and we do have salt and crap on the roads here.

Any suggestions and opinions on what the issue could be?

    Thanks.

My 2006 DRT DC/SB was always hard shifting, especially from first to second. I always thought that it was a bit stiffer when it was cold. I had my fluid changed at about 85K and traded it with 175K and it was no different. I think its just a characteristic of that transmission. I have heard many comments on it being stiff over the years. If you happen to let off the gas between first and second it can really slam into gear.

I think that I may have misunderstood, I was referring to the actual shifting of the transmission, not the mechanical cable throw as you moved through P-N-D ect.
