Ive got an 08 Tacoma crew cab on a 6" pro comp lift. I have some serious drive line shudder. Ive read many different ways to try and get this ironed out. Ive dropped my carrier bearing down 2 1/2 inches and replaced it with a new one. Still having the problem. Only occurs from 0-30 and then once again when up to speed around 65-75. Open to any suggestions to get this fixed please. Its driving my wife and I crazy.

I installed 3-5 degree shims on my rear axle and carrier bearing drop and have little vibes just on take off.
    Though I'm not on a 6 inch.....

    Thanks,

    Brett

Less lift is the answer......I have it too now that I have 3" lift out back. Didn't have it at 1.5" lift or with 2" lift. I just live with it :(

Thanks Brett! Ill look into some shims for the diff. You installed 3.....5 degree shims? Where do you recommend me finding some shims?

Its just too rough downgrading in a lift kit though. Id like to keep the lift and try and get it to drive like normal if possible. This has become a mission for me lol.

Yes I installed the shims just as a precaution when I installed my Dakar leaf packs. I bought them on the toytec website. Are you running rear blocks or full leaf packs?

    Thanks,

    Brett

One 3 to 5 degree shim. Toytec sells them.

Still won't help too much with 6" of lift.
Everything I've read says don't go higher than 3" unless you want to open your wallet for repairs and problems.

Ive got blocks under the leafs. ill look into toytec about some shims or see what they suggest also. thank you for the help. i was also going to look into replacing the stock two piece drive shaft with a solid one piece. but ive read that the weight hanging from the back of the transfer case can cause problems with the bearings inside the case. im wondering if i could find a lighter weight one but just as strong.
