no need, sounds way better than what im dealing with, 2500-3500 rpms regardless of gear is unbearable, yet past that it gets quieter again

That looks like something a kid built in a high school shop class.[IMG]

Do they have anything a little more professional looking? I would think they would at least take a grinder to those horrible welds and at least dress them up a bit.

I know I am sounding really negative, but damn for that kind of money it should at least be presentable.

Your too man! This is the basic aluminized steel, but for extra money you can upgrade to stainless steel or polished stainless steel. It doesn't bother me enough for me to pay the extra money.

I've thought about spraying it with a high temp paint to protect it a little more from the elements? Think it would withstand?

Yes, it being square with flat surfaces, after driving it can be used as a frying pan

Such as performance, I believe I read somewhere on the website that their mufflers improve performance an mpg but I haven't noticed anything special. It might have improved slightly but I haven't done any tests.

I do have a question about the piping though... What diameter and length pipe did you use? I am thinking I will try to get everything I need before the muffler comes... Thanks!

Sorry I'm at work so I'll be slow to reply. I went to the auto parts store and bought 2 1/4 piping, one solid piece, and some connectors or couplers for 2 1/4 piping. I don't know the length I bought off the top of my head. I will be home to measure around 5:30. Its better to have more than not enough. The muffler come flared so the 2 1/4 piping will slide in about an inch so couplers aren't needed there. Hope this helps! A good rule for the length of pipe I would say is measure from where I said to cut in the attached PDF to about 3/4 of the way of the stock muffler if that makes sense! That should be plenty. Are you planning to clamp it?

Just got under and measured. I used a 24 inch long pipe and it reached perfectly without having to trim. It may be slightly different on your truck but pretty close. You will only need 1 connector or coupler for connecting the new piping to the old piping towards the front of the truck.

Also I measured how long on a hanger you would need to replace the front one and it would need to be just under 5 inches

I will try to update the original post with all of this info and a step by step write up w/o pics maybe.

Thanks man! I just installed mine. I did it a little different.. the auto part stores aren't stocked as well around here.. but she sounds good! It does not sounds as snappy as your at high RPM's however... I have not, however, driven it much so we'll see.. But it is a lot better and thanks for making this thread! Never would of heard of it otherwise..

No problem! How did you do it? I'm just a little curious :D I would give it some time to settle in and see how she sounds. I'm glad you like it though and glad I could be some assistance. Also, it may sound slightly different due to the fact that they are video recordings and it could sound different than in person. Post a video up on the thread if you would like so others could hear and we could compare if you would like!

Sounds pretty good. Price isn't too bad either. They have some interesting products and designs on that site.

Thanks! I know they have tons of options. Check this out. Spintech installed dual mufflers on this dual exhaust. Pretty cool :)

Installed my 9221 today. Thanks for answering some questions Austin. I'm happy with it so far. Still have to take it on the highway. I drove it for a bit with no pipe after muffler and it was pretty loud hehe. I put the tail pipe back on after muffler and it sounds good now though. Hey for you guys who have had this muffler for a while, does it change as it gets broken on or pretty much the same tone as day 1? I'll post a video/sound clip tomorrow.

Well, I'm super happy with the sound of the muffler! I was hoping it wouldn't sound like a souped up Honda Civic and it doesn't. It has a deep tone and is loud but not too obnoxious. It's really hard to get a good sound clip from my phone. I took a few videos and most of them the sound turned out really bad. I have one video that sounds ok (still sounds A LOT better in person). I just have to figure out how to post a video on here.

Glad your happy man  I agree, it does sound much better in person than on the videos. What I do is upload it to YouTube and then copy and paste the URL and it should show up. I may take another video since both of mine were in crappy weather.

    Too few to list.
I first learned about Spintech through a neighbor that builds and runs pro street cars. I've been running them on my cars since 2001. They have been on my camaro's and mustang's as well as our trucks. Solid product with a different sound. I currently have it on my Tacoma but I am running a Magnaflow resonator as well as I felt it was too loud (i'm getting old). The great thing about them is that they sound great on idle and the get go but have very minimal drone at hwy speeds.

It sounds great man! I need to cut mine off like yours ;) I'm glad you like it man but like you said it sounds so much better in person! Clean truck too

Definitely a different sound. I love the Spintech muffler. And yes my favorite thing about it is the minimal drone on the highway. I drive 860 miles on interstates to go to and from college and it doesn't bother me one bit.
