Pretty much anything off the shelf in Wallmart is superior to WS transmission fluid and I wouldnt be typing this or recommending this without doing a lot of research . Toyota should be ashamed for making WS mandatory in the A750 transmission series .Even at the new reduced 60k fluid change interval , WS is still a complete joke .

With this said , I would still go with a good quality synthetic fluid.

^lol at calling WS a joke

selling reliable vehicles is serious business... good thing you alone caught toyota
just slapping any old crap fluid in these trannies my god what is happening

lol I will stick with WS though, it just might be specified for reasons

hmmm could +100 million vehicles on the road today be saved with walmart fluid ? alert the media, no time to lose

    ymmv.

do you have to always use WS nope.
is there anything wrong with WS nope.
will you void warranty if discovered using something other than WS and you bring it in for repair yes.

well....I am also not really here to argue or cause issues but srsly ? your 'hidden and mysterious facts' about it will have a hard time standing up to the facts that are self-evident and those are... the number of toyota transmissions on the road running WS and have no problems going past 200,000 miles (lets be more reasonable 100,000 miles) I'll stick with WS as the tranny brakes, gaskets, clutches, electrics, and controller all expect WS not anything else. also dat warranty.

^once again, just noise, with no content. zero nada zip.

That being said I am pretty sure your recommendations won't do immediate harm

I haven't seen any proof that quality fluids have messed up ANY transmissions.

But the sky is not falling as you describe with Toyota sealing up the trannies with WS. it is absolutely 100% proper and known good practice to stick with the stated recommendations from Toyota.

I am off my soapbox do as you please.

Well you are wrong on couple parts....
    1. Reason for change to WS is to improve fuel efficiency. WS has lower viscosity when cold, and its made to operate 200- 220 F window. (thats where Toyota set their thermostats on other Toyota vehicles. In fact on Tundra and Sequoia runing WS fluid thermostat does not fully open until 220-225F)
    2. Towing package cooler is not needed on our trucks unless somebody is towing with them something heavy in high temperature conditions. "light duty" offroading is not it.
    3. In winter I have to cover my cooler otherwise my transmission is running at 100 -150 F makign my truck burn crap load of fuel. (proof is in scanguage)
    4. Both Toyota and Honda have best transmissions that last much much longer than anybody else. They achieve this by building fluid that is very specific for transmissions used.
    5. Full synthetic is not always the answer when it comes to clutch packs, I find that out hard way fighting with Toyota mechanical LSD.

    6. I would not use any other oil, its not worth it. If money is no objective yes having a extra transmission cooler is nice but in our trucks radiator is so big that it will cool transmission just with that, unless somebody is towing something big, heavy over hills in high temperature.
