Otrattw switches, black vinyl armrest mod, clazzio leather seat covers with heaters, flowmaster dual exhaust, hornblasters train horns,
got three calls last week from my dealer to come in for a free appraisal. They said they can lower my payments on a new truck. I'd really like to see that being that my truck is paid off. This month is Tacoma something month. trying to get rid of the 14's before the 15's come out i guess.

It really just depends on the deal they are going to give you. Sometimes it can benefit the dealer AND you. Right now used vehicles are becoming tougher to come by because people are keeping their cars longer than usual.

Got to confess. My brain is getting old but... My wife who is always right told me we financed it. Stealership paid 2000 more than original price on buy back.Didn't really like the ac cab,so it worked. Here's the kicker. Turned around and bought a ford with powerstroke.(6.0). Didn't do my homework before buying. Really liked it for a year. Cost 800 for high pressure seal replacement. Low miles and no good reason. Had to get it gone. Cost me that extra 2000 bucks to get it gone. Still had taco threw all this. Still rockin taco with 282,000. No more fords.

I got a mailing from my toyota dealership and eneded up buying a new 2013 taco last year, because they gave me 15,000 form my 2005 taco with 110,000 miles. I fealt like that was a sweet enough deal to make the switch, my 2013 had 5miles on it at the time I bought it.

I feel like that cash for clunkers government program a few years back took a lot of used vehicles off the road as well, resulting in lower inventory and higher used car prices.

Just curious what were the specs and purchase price on your 2005? Was it a 4x4 TRD DC? Any aftermarket parts?

Got a $24,000 offer on mine, but it will take $35,000 for me to give it up. Its paid off and I plan to run in into the ground.

I've gotten these for every car I've owned since cash for clunkers. Dodge Dakota, Mazda 6, jeep grand cherokee, jeep wrangler. Some have been fair deals, some are laughable at best

This is exactly why used cars are getting the $$$ they are today. The cash for clunkers program literally destroyed almost hundreds of thousands of potentially resellable used cars. As a result, the used car market is in a shortfall. Like virtually all government programs, this one did more damage than good.

Yeah that's not a bad deal, especially if they had to repaint it because of scratches. Sounds like it cost you less than 2k a year to own it, if there were no major repairs.

Been offered similar- $22k for '08 dcsb 4x4 with 105,000 miles.
Wasn't a "real" offer- more of a ploy to get me to come in and talk with them (I was getting a service done) but I told him that it would have to be more because I was planning on driving it until it the day it died.

I'm sure it did. I just know a ton of dealers are hurting for good used inventory. They are willing to pay more for your used vehicle in this case. They'll make money off of it anyways.
