Why would I waste time and money recalibrating my VSC when I did an emergency lane change shortly after putting the Baja suspension on?

Hello, hello . . . . . is this thing on? Did you read my post above where I said I did an emergency lane change with a flick of the wheel left then right and accelerated out of trouble? Yeah, I guess you missed that.

Dude, I put the Baja suspension kit on in my home garage. How many times do I have to say there is no recalibration. It's a bolt on kit, it's a badass suspension. It's that simple. Like I said above, 100% of you people have never driven a truck with the Baja suspension, so . . . . . . .

Your saying you lifted your truck 2 inches and didn't get an alignment?

    RIP your tires.

Hey bro what bumper is that?
I've got the same one but I got it off some dude on CL real cheap with light damage.
Sorry for the off topic post but I had to ask

On topic: just get some LT fab'd if you want to go off-road otherwise why waste parts and just add a spacer and call it a day.

I had the baja kit installed by my dealer...purchased online from toyota of dallas...Couldnt be happier with the ride & handling compared to stock...levels out the front end nicely....NO regrets
and by the way -its post like this one below that make me glad I went with a BAJA suspension kit and not some aftermarket CRAP .....

That just shows a toy tech lift lol
That's not anywhere near baja style suspension.

The true fact of the matter is! Everyone thinks Thier suspension is better than others. Or thinks theirs is the "best". Why? Cause they never had anything better than stock. You get a Baja suspension and compare it to stock suspension. Of course it's going to ride better. But have you tried icon or kings to compare it to the toyota over priced baja suspension? I doubt you will.

My spacer lift I thought was better than stock. Then my 2.5 kings were way better than those two combined. Now i have custom kings for my 6 inch lift.

But at the end of the day, it's op money he can do what he wants with it

It's probably as close as you can get to the Baja suspension without the added cost of 'TRD' labeled parts... It's not exactly the same, but it's very close... Using this setup, all the parts can be purchased from Toytec for <$650.00, although, I'd opt for the rear reservoir shocks, which will up the price to <$850.00. Much cheaper than the Toyota kit @ $1500.00!...

That's it. I'm selling my Icons to get a Baja kit. The whole part about changing lanes like a sports car convinced me.

If I'm installing my lift at home and then getting an alignment at a non-toyota shop, should I still get a VSC calibration somewhere else? VSC has to do with the brakes and tilt of the truck right? How much is the calibration and what's involved?

You can do a VSC calibration yourself. It's a simple procedure that involves jumping the #4 and #12 DLC pin and turning the key to the ignition setting, which allows the computer to reset itself. You don't have to bring it in to a shop to have it done. There is a procedure in the FSM for this, or you can follow this link:

What does an emergency lane change have to do with their questions? Did you get an alignment and VSC recalibration after installing the Baja kit? All you had to do was answer those two questions...

Simply repeating "lane change" and "bolt on", over and over, is weird.

Why wouldn't you recalibrate after essentially changing the suspension geometry?

    Some stuff...
Icon 2.5 remote resi & Icon uniball UCA up front, Icon 2.0 remote resi & Dakar leaf pack out back. Was around $3,200 total but there are all kinds of setups for that price and less that work nicely.
