After pining for a Tacoma for over a decade but no reason for a truck bed, I've finally decided on buying a new '14 Tacoma. This will be my first brand new vehicle purchase and I plan on keeping the truck for 10-15 years (at least). I'm going to be ordering 4x4 AC 6spd TRD Sport.

My only problem is picking a color! I've already weeded out the colors I don't want, but I'm torn between Barcelona Red, MGM, and Pyrite Mica.

Barcelona Red catches my eye because it's a color I seldom see around town (most are silver), and it appeals to my youth. Though it does appear to show dirt like no tomorrow. It's one sharp looking truck if it's in red.

MGM seems dark enough to not show dirt too bad, but also it seems like everyone is rocking it these day. I owned a black 07 WRX for a few years, and although I loved the color, it was impossible to keep clean. This seems like an appropriate alternative.

Pyrite Mica falls in the same boat as MGM. It's dark enough to not show dirt, but it has the added bonus of being a relative rare color.

So if you could purchase a brand new truck right now, what color would you choose?

Pyrite was my favorite by far. I paint cars for a living. I paint around 40 different cars a week. Pyrite has always caught my eye. My .02 . Good luck in your journey. 2014 pyrite trd sport here. 8)

I just did buy a new Tacoma and I got the Silver, but I'm old, it matches my hair, that is what's left of it. If I were semi young, I buy the Barcelona Red and make a statement. Everyone should own a red truck sometime in there life, buy the red and get it off your bucket list while you have the chance.

Go for the MGM. Although I like the red, I feel that it may attract some unwanted attention. There are a lot of crazies out there!

MGM was my first choice but couldn't get what I wanted, so I went with Black. I thin MGM is the best looking color.

Honestly... I love the spruce mica...
To hot during the summer for me to justify it, but I think its a great color, and pretty rare.
I know it's not on your shortlist, and I'm just some schmuck on the internet giving his 2 cents.
But I also love the Super white, which also isn't on your list, so you can ignore me.

Get the Red, the other two colors are just too drab.

It will also look better when you follow the current trend and put black wheels on it.

The two colors that were at the top of my list were Pyrite and Spruce Green Micas. Finally seeing both side by side the night before I bought my truck, the Spruce really stood out as my right choice. The best of luck with whatever color Sport you choose. :rockband:

Pyrite and I'd do it again if I were to buy a new taco tomorrow. Took me a while to decide on a color, as well. GL

*edit* funny thing is that I was trying to decide between the same colors as you are.

So here's my reasoning on the colors I excluded:

Silver: Here in Alaska, everyone has it. It's all I see on every day Tacoma's.

Black/White: Its too damned hard to keep clean and looking nice, I don't have a garage so the car will go with sporadic cleaning during the winter months (6-8 Months).

Spruce Mica: If I owned a green vehicle, it would be a British Racing Green MG.

Blue Ribbon: It's too dark of a blue, if they still made the brighter blue it would be on my list.

For reference, here is my current vehicle:
    03935311-6CF0-4B99-902A-E6D12CDD6B6A-739_40ca484ed24e807c43610af5c8cacbf274f7a2d1.jpg

So I know the wonders of red. (I also no longer have the garage).

You already have/had a vehicle that's a shade of red so delete Barcelona. IMO

    Truth be told, I've had:

    1992 Green 4Runner
2009 MGM Corolla (What a mistake-car, not color)
    2007 Black Subaru WRX
2008 World Rally Blue Subaru Forester
2005 Red Subaru Legacy GT Wagon (current).

Seems as though the majority of my friends/family are all leaning towards MGM.

No matter the color we only have 2 Dealerships in Alaska, both owned by the same company (350 miles apart). They order the majority of their trucks as DCSB Auto SR5's. The only 6spd's they get are SR5's (and thats 1-2 per shipment), I'll be having to order a truck no matter what.

Throwing in a vote for Pyrite. If I weren't in the desert I would have gone for that color.
