    The boot is deterioated behind the ring, there are no tears or cracks between the ring and the case. Should I worry about it or no? I did not check the passenger side but am going to assume it is ok. I did have some work done on this side at the dealer late last year.

    no don't worry about that at all. the important bits look fine and they will be fine unless something pokes at it
