I've been very happy. It was gonna cost over $400 to either powder coat or get new wheels. Instead it was under $25.

To everyone using this on wheels: I strongly recommend using Clear coat over top of it to protect the dip. I used Rustoleum Crystal Clear

Does the clear coat add any shine?

Didn't add clearcoat to mine, but this thread sure motivated me to get my girls car done. Took 3.5 cans, 3 coats for the front, 2 coats for the back. Sorry its not a Taco.

As someone who has used Plasti-Dip on multiple vehicles, from badges to rims, I have never used anything between the rim and tires. Any over spray peels off with easy and adheres to the edges better. I have had issues of twisting and pulling when putting on the lugs after though even when letting dry for days.

For the price, this is probably the less expensive (notice I did not say cheap)
and best looking upgrade for the money. Add some flat black lugs and I'll be happy.

$600.00 for new rims or $30.00 and a day off the road?.... Hmmm......

Thanks again for the reply. Much appreciated.:D

You don't have to take the tires off. And if you do take them off and paint the rims, you will most likely peel the plasti dip off when you mount the tires back on

Tempted to do this both for looks and to protect rims/avoid cleaning them every time I wash the truck. Seems like it'd save time/water, usually spend a couple minutes on each one.
