I've been a long time reader of the threads on this site and have found some great tips over the years. I plan on doing a Build Thread for my truck in the future but thought I'd share my little project for today.

I bought the skull shift knob off eBay for 17 bucks. I used an old broken 1/2" Westward impact socket 5" extension to mount the skull on. I started by removing the stock shift knob and found the threads to be 8mm X 1.25. I drilled and tapped the bottom of the impact extension to fit on the existing shaft. Then I had to ream out the mounting hole on the skull, made of resin, in order to fit the extension into it. I filled the hole with good ol JB Weld and fitted the extension in and let cure. Finally I added red thread locker to the the shaft threads and screwed into place. I had thought about painting the extension flat black, but I'm glad I didn't, looks great with that worn out look! For a final touch, i added two skull cigarette lighters in the 12V outlets on the dash, going for kind of a skull theme with my Silver Taco. You'll see what I'm talking about when I do the build thread in a week or two. Peace

Haha Thanks dough boy! I'm quite pleased with myself. I was gonna use a large bolt instead but all the hardware stores were closed last night, this is much better
