No. A 6000K LED is a different hue then a 6000K HID. I have seen the difference between the two and the color temperature is noticeable.

He's right. 6000K is 6000K is 6000K. What you're talking about is an industry where QC takes a back seat to razor thin profit margins by Chinese companies who aren't afraid to use lead profusely in cost savings so a little difference in light color? Who cares?

We do. This is one thing that frustrated me for years and years because we now have a generation that think that 6000K is an OEM HID color when in reality OEM applications use a 4300K color temperature with some going as high as 5000K. 6000K should have a slight blue tint and is NOT white. What cheap Chinese manufacturers label 6000k though may not be... doesn't make them 6000K anymore than slapping 'Premium' on their products makes them so. This isn't the place for this debate but that's the problem with an industry full of people who don't care.. you now have things like '6000K LED is different than 6000K HID' because there's no such thing. That's why there is an actual standard called the Kelvin scale. That's like saying that a boiling pot of water at 212deg is hotter than an oven set to 212deg.

Since the boiling point of water is lower at higher elevations maybe the lights change to a color as they change elevation :p

I live at a higher elevation where water boils at closer to 200deg... that's why I specified 212deg. Let's not be silly.

Same thing with lumen ratings on these bulbs. Any lumen rating you see on these is just a number that they threw out there for marketing.

Cree LEDs are the top of the line. There so good people are switching over from HID bulbs to CREE LEDS to grow BC Bud!

The whole 6000K being OEM when 4300K originally is what pisses me off too. I prefer 4300K definitely more useable light.

CREE LED's are manufactured by the company CREE though. So their chips are what they are. The rest is Chinese manufacturing.

I may pull out one bulb and revert back to my previous 5000K LED so we can all compare the two contrasts. It's amazing what a full 1000 Kelvins does in the color spectrum.

Those were the originals I was running before I replaced them. They have been fantastic and delivered stellar results. I was looking to get away from rotating parts and ballast assemblies however which is the reason why I switched over to these. You will be very pleased with the lighting they offer.

I was pushing guys to get those exact ones when I first got them. They score an A in my book. Enjoy them! They are on my toolbox right now just hanging out. Lol.

I was thinking the same as why I decided on them. That and they seem to be the only ones that actually had reviews. Good ones.

Glad to hear. They arrive tomorrow. If I have time, I'll be installing them too. We shall see.

    What does?

Make sure you tighten the fans well. When I was removing one of my bulbs I found that the fan while hadn't backed out, was loose. Though I off-road like a mad dog, so that may have contributed.

Got them in. I had 5000k HIDs before and these are more white and brighter. It's raining out so I can't take good pics. Going out later tonight to see how they are on the street. Super easy install, btw.
