The reinforcing is in the roof and corner structures

Doesn't matter how far you distribute 400lbs on something that is rated for 150

    Leer site says 150# max
    My RTT is 125#

I am conservatively below the stated maximum cargo capacity. If stress cracks and/or fractures appear, I'll have to go through proper channels, I guess.

sleeping in it would require exceeding the maximum capacity as set by the manufacturer. i would never do anything like that.

Here , look OP , I hope you don't have any issues with overloading your cap , and I certainly hope Craig doesn't either , my posts reflect the actual load specs from Leer for non commercial caps , the load rating is 150lbs because that's what the roof is designed to carry and consequently why they make commercial versions of the 100R and the 180R ( 100RCC and 180RCC ) for people that intend on carrying heavier loads on the roof .

On occasion you need to retighten the cap fastening bolts , my installer even mentioned this to me when I picked up my truck from the cap place .

Maybe the same guy that told you a 150lb rated roof could carry 300lbs wasn't aware of that

    Good luck

All kidding aside, it really doesn't matter what Leer rates things at, does it? If it cracks, it goes back.

    A lot of stuff.
Just a Note: the Allen Bolts they provide are only 1" in length. Too short to reach blocks, I replaced these with 1.5" in length.
I notified ebay seller they are too short.. haven't heard back..
