2013 TRD Sport color matched grill shell...color slightly off?

    :facepalm: This is turning into a witch hunt. How the truck is built is not a secret.

    • Metal body parts are painted together on the same line. They then take the doors, hood, etc. off to install trim. Note this is all done before the body is dropped onto the frame/powertrain.
    • Plastic parts like the grille, bumper cover, mirror cover, etc. are painted separately by their respective suppliers (which may be a subtier or another Toyota facility). So expect the paint between the grille and hood to be slightly different, and expect the paint between the grille and fender flare to be slightly different.
    • All paint will start fading the minute they leave the factory, and at different rates between the metal and plastic parts. The grille may have matched the hood when the truck rolled off the line, but became noticeably different 3 months later when you took delivery.
