Alright, trying to nail down my buying decision, and I have a couple of questions left.....Definitely going double cab. Either rolling the Sport or TRD Pro--I know, I know different beasts, but I cannot make the decision until I have a clear understanding of the Pro price point--it has everything I want, but at what cost? Now, I am wondering about the short bed--anybody wishing that they had the long bed. Here's what I would be using it for.......occasionally throwing a bike back there--will it fit? Fishing gear--pretty sure we are good there. Then the occasional small haul--would trailer for bigger stuff. Your thoughts, am I good with the short bed? What am I missing?

I wanted the long bed hands down but trying to find a spot long enough in NYC can some times be impossible. Now that I have the short bed, I really don't regret it in the least. I purchased a small aluminum trailer when I brought the truck so extra room is not a problem. For the extremely few times I need an extra foot it does not pay for me. It is my families trip vehicle and quading trips. I use it for hunting as well. I find the depth of the bed to be the most limiting with my Bakflip therefore I am looking at a shell but I don't like how they look.

I have an AC, even the LB won't hold what I want it to on occasion. I just couldn't do it with a SB.

With a bedrug and a shell, if you're under 6 feet the LB makes for a comfy night's sleep.

You do know there is no correct answer to this, don't you?

    Answer these questions

    1. What do you want to do with the truck?
    2. Are the options you want available in the length you want?
    3. Do you park in tight city parking?
    4. What compromises are you willing to make?

    My answers look like this:

    1. Family hauler = double cab
    2. TRD Off Road = short bed in the double cab
    3. Parking structure is designed for itty bitty cars. Long bed is a bad choice.
    4. No compromise needed
The beauty of this is my answers are correct for me, yours will most likely be different and equally correct.

I'm pretty damn content with my SB, especially when I need to haul postage stamps! Seriously though, I don't have any complaints with my SB.

I went from a '13 F-150 with a 6.5 to a 5' on my Tacoma, truthfully I don't really miss the 6.5 box and I use my truck daily for work.
