Just bought a set of the dark smoke weathertech vent visors for my double cab and when I pulled the front ones out the package and inspected them, I noticed they have these imperfections that look wavy almost like the shape of some clouds in the actual acrylic. It seems like they were messed up when they made them. I thought at first it was just on the surface and I could wipe them off but they were still there. Has anyone ever notice this on there's? The rear set seems to be better. Sorry but this is about the best angle that I could get the pic at that you could see all the stuff on it that I was talking about.

those look like they could have been caused from dust in the box when shipped. You can likely polish that out with some car polish but I think once you have them on for a bit they will weather a bit and you won't even notice those swirls.

    Hmm. Haven't seen that before.
Side note. Looks like the ghost of a woman is pointing at you in the reflection, probably looks different when seen on a computer.

I tried just plain water and a towel and no luck. Then I tried some adhesive remover type stuff which usually gets anything off and still no luck. That is why I believed the swirls were actually built into the acrylic, but I did have the same thought thinking it was dust. Do you think a wax or some type of rubbing compound would get it out? I don't have any polish unfortunately. I wouldn't have been concerned if it were just a little, but it basically runs along the entire top part of the visor.

yeah when I said polish, I was thinking a light rubbing compound. A wax might mask the swirls a little but won't get rid of them.

the weather tech visors cost so much, did you try contacting them to see what they are willing to do for you?

Yes and they said I need to call Anything Powersports, where I ordered them from, to get them to exchange or refund them for me since they are "defective." They were close today so I'm going to try and call them tomorrow and hopefully they will exchange them for me. But first I will try tonight some wax and if that don't work some rubbing compound and see if that gets them out, but it certainly seems like they are IN the acrylic and not on the surface.

If the marks are on the surface, a product called Scratch-Out would work well. It's made to remove the yellowing on acrylic headlight lenses, which is caused by lots of little scratches. It made my headlights look like new. But if it's internal, I don't think anything will work.

If you are going to try to exchange them, I'd suggest not doing anything that will show you tried to "fix" it yourself. They may see that and say no.

Well I just tried some wax and that did absolutely nothing. I'm almost positive it is internal and it just "cured" that way on these. My rear ones are good, its just the front two that seem to have it. Oh well, I'm just going to exchange them and get a new set and keep my fingers crossed that the new ones are good.

    None atm.
I can't tell from the pic but mine have what appear to be waves also, no discoloration in them but a wave in the material. They have been on my truck for a month or so now without any issues.

Yes, definitely check to be sure there is no protective film on them to keep them from getting scratched in shipping. I have those same ones but I can't recall for sure if they were covered. I would think that if they were you could easily tell.

I wouldn't try any aggressive cleaning or polishing agent if you are going to return them.

    More than I can afford
I just bought a set of those and have the same issue.

Thinking it was just adhesive or mold release or something, I went ahead and stuck em on my truck. Several car washes later, that whatever it is is still visible.

Dunno what I am going to do with mine, the return window has passed.
