The rear speakers in my 2014 Tacoma access cab are buried by the ceiling panel with no grill. If I tune to rear speakers and turn the volume all the way up its not very loud and the sound quality is awful. Anyone else have this problem? Any thoughts?

Those are not speakers. They are Surface Transducers or Sound Exciters that attempt to turn the headliner into a speaker. A very poor deal at best.

Thanks Jimmy. Sound exciters huh? I'm underwhelmed. The sound was better in my 2009 Tacoma. Any thoughts on improving the fidelity?

Get some real speakers and tap them into the plug that goes to the transducers ( black I think ) in the drivers side A Pillar.

Tonight was the first time someone sat in the rear of my Access Cab Tacoma, He asked if I had rear speakers. He couldn't hear anything.

I adjusted the radio for full rear speakers or what I thought should be speakers. This sucks!

It sounds great sitting in the front seat and speakers adjusted to the center, but it might sound better if I had real speakers back there.
