More like a top of the line midtravel setup! You hit the nail right on the head on the two options!

Toytec ultimate lift kit + 5 tires and rims+ deck amp and sub's. U won't have a crazy offroad setup but u will be prepared and this will push that 5 grand real hard. Trust me.

I'd get a decent suspension. Some nice wheels and tires. Then for the last $1000 or so, buy some of the "neat" mods being sold on the forum.

    ARE shell, bedrug, TRD wheels
    3" Lift with UCA = 2.1K
    Toytec Ultimate $1200.
Upper Control Arms $500.00 (rounded up for shipping)
    Install cost with alignment $400.00
Wheels and good Tires = 1.8Kish
    Goodyear Dura Trac $800-900
Rims 700-??? You can go crazy here
Lighting or stereo = 1.2K I would choose lighting over a stereo. I am half deaf so stereos are kinda a waste. LOL
    =5K spent

If you look at my build I am just at 5K less the shell on the back. My Nerf bars are $400 and they are part of my $5k build

Also since you are in Canada prices to get items are more so plan for it.

Instead of spending almost 5k on my lift/wheels/tires I wish I would have gone with a s/c

I'd go for mechanical upgrades over cosmetic upgrades. That said, I would focus on a good lift. Spend the money now and it'll pay off in the long run. My focus is on paying off my truck before I drop any serious money into it. I'll be in Kuwait for the next year making bank and plan on paying off my truck by this time next year :) That's when I get my overland build started!
